What does this mean? And I’m only just doing my initial cpc tests so what does it mean for me?

Once you have completed all the initial tests you will get a DQC - driver cpc card - and that will have a 5 year expiry date
To continue driving LGVs commercially after that 5 year DQC expiry date you will need to complete 35 hours of dcpc periodic training - that can be completed at anytime during the 5 year period and will get 5 years added to the first DQC
Only periodic training done with 5 years of a DQC expiry date will count towards the next 5 year period
The Sept 2014 date is only for those who have LGV acquired/grandfather rights

September 2014 is when grandfather rights run out for people who had a HGV licence before September 2009.
As you’re just doing the initial CPC test it doesn’t mean anything to you, your DCPC qualification will run out 5 years after completing the initial DCPC test.
That’s brilliant thanks for clearing that up. I was worried I’d have to do my periodic training before sep 2014! Cheers guys
