driver attacks

Kenny1975:
Seems the driver is out on bail, which is maybe a good sign since being a foreign national and being arrested over a murder is quite surprising.

The two guys who tried to rob him are supposedly still in custody.

Obviously they had to arrest the driver because of PACE but if he has been bailed so early then the Police obviously are not viewing him as a murderer.

And I hope it stays that way. The message will be “If you try to hijack a lorry and the driver stabs you to death then it’s your tough luck”

Santa:
I wonder how a british driver in Greece would have been treated in similar circumstances. Based on past reports he would have probably spent a year or two in jail while they decided what do do.

News too me that a British trucker had stabbed any Greek thieves recentley. Malaka.!

lefkasman:
seems soft lad andy wants to side with the pond life . No wonder this country is goin down hill

Did you actually read my post properly ■■?

Yes I did , you need all the facts explaining to you as to why the pond life felt the need to rob the Greek trucker before you can make a decision as to who is in the right . Endaxi malaka ?

just because he would rather know the facts first doesn’t mean you can call him a masturbator

Whilst I too thought the remarks made by chipmonk66 in the op were a little hastily said before anyone knew the facts, it is now beginning to look like he was correct.

This makes interesting reading from the Sunday Mercury.net

A quick word- please attack the post, and not the poster.

choosing my words carefully, given the facts so far,i would say the lad that got stabbed deserved everything he got.no sympathy whatsoever.
it comes to something, which will probably be the norm in about 5 years time, when an honest law abiding bloke, cant go about his job, without fear of being pulled out of his bed at 2am,by more than one scumbag, and given a kicking of some sort, gassed,or even worse murdered for the contents of his load.

C’mon folks. Keep it civil…please.

i apologise krankee, i thought it was tame after what he said, but i abide by your decision.
is it ok for him to call two people a masturbator

The information that is out now.

Guy attacked in his truck by 3 men. They all get stabbed and one piece of scum dies. The person that died was a career criminal known for lorry hi jacking. Seems cut and dried to me.

i think we should all go to the court case and sing… FOR HES A JOLLY GOOD DRIVER.. FOR HES A JOLLY GOOD DRIVER.
theres one person that wont be going out stealing. and i bet the ones that survived wont be in too much of a hurry either.

it doesn’t look like we’re needed,

A lorry driver, 41, was arrested over the death and has since been bailed.

JUSTICE

The other 2 have just been charged with conspiricy to commit robbery and assualt with intent to commit robbery

When the Police release the names of the two surviving robbers, I am going to try to find out their addresses- any help welcome- then I am going to go to Hallmark or somesuch and send each of them a card of condolence.

When they open the card, they might consider that the message of condolence is slightly less condolent than the card had led them to expect.

The latest from West Midlands News

Detectives investigating an attempted robbery on a lorry in the West Midlands which resulted in a fatal stabbing have made a fourth arrest.

Warwickshire Police said the 18-year-old man was being held in connection with an incident in Coleshill, near Birmingham, which also led to a lorry driver being detained on suspicion of murder.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman confirmed the 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and was being questioned in Nuneaton.

News of the arrest came shortly after two other males appeared in court charged with two offences connected with the death of Dean Skidmore.

Spencer Howell, 34, and his co-defendant, a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, both appeared before magistrates in Nuneaton charged with conspiracy to rob.

Howell, of Bassett Road, Wednesbury, was remanded in custody, while the younger defendant was granted conditional bail.

The pair, who are also charged with conspiracy to assault with intent to commit robbery, were both ordered to appear at Warwick Crown Court on March 13.

Mr Skidmore, 36, died in hospital last Thursday following the attempted robbery on the Station Road Industrial Estate in Coleshill.

Police arrested a lorry driver on suspicion of murdering Mr Skidmore, who was from Brierley Hill, West Midlands.

The 41-year-old haulier, who is believed to be foreign, was released on bail on Saturday and is due to return to a police station later in the week.

the police have arrested the 4th man they were looking for

This was the bit that made me laugh!

A witness at the hospital said: "A blue car sped up the ramp and skidded to a halt.

"Two chaps jumped out of the front seats screaming, ‘Help us, we’ve all been stabbed.’ They were drenched in blood.

"One of the men lifted up his shirt to show stab wounds on his stomach.

“They went into the back seats where a third man was sitting. He was a big bloke and looked unconscious. They managed to drag him out, leaving huge pools of blood.”

Well, you won’t be trying that little stunt again in a hurry, will you boys!
