Drive on a saturday?

It’s hell if you are on the motorway. Surely most of the people who drive cars on a saturday have a 9-5 job monday to friday so why do they all turn in to idiots on a saturday? Mon to fri rush hour most traffic is usually quite reasonable cos they know the score, but on a saturday?? Hells ■■■■! Three times today I had to take evasive action (and I mean proper evasive action) to avoid an accident … and three times I got a car full of youths cut me up and give a coffee bean sign and brake hard in front of me.

It was tempting, oh so tempting to not take evasive action at the time. There was a second or two of anger where I wished I hadn’t braked and let fate sort it out, but it’s human nature and instinct to do whatever you can to avoid an accident. We should get paid double for saturdays for what we have to put up with. Can’t even begin to imagine what its like if you drive on a sunday or bank holiday

i thought it was a bit quieter on saturdays.
you’re not one of those nancy boys that dosn’t carry a crossbow are you?

Sorry, I don’t carry a crossbow. I clearly need to return my balls and go and work in a florists or something

What the hell is it with this, and why do they feel the need?

It’s far from only youths though. Some bloke in a BMW (surprise) 3 series did the same to me a while back, caught up with him in a village about 5 miles later and he was stuck behind a stopped bus. I got out and opened his door and told him I’d nearly rear-ended him when he’d braked hard to give the coffee bean sign and asked him what the problem was. He didn’t really have any answer and said I hadn’t got over enough when he was overtaking and I pointed out this was limited by the hedgerow on my nearside, on the plus side he did look like he was about to fill his pants even though he was probably bigger than me.

I know what you mean mate. Trouble is when you are in a moving vehicle everything is much more serious. If you acciedently walked out in front of someone on a pavement you say “sorry mate”, but in a vehicle you want to kill them.

I bet when you confronted this bmw you were angry as hell, then when you pulled his door open your next thought was 'what the hell do I do next other than smash his face in"?

can you still get them bright red contact lenses?
open the door, take your shades off and say “don’t make me angry”.

Still pretty tame compared to how I was feeling.

Saturday has always been the worst day on the road for as long as I can remember, not as much traffic as week day rush hour, but the standard of driving is awful. Total nightmare if you have to go anywhere near any of the big shopping centres

Saturday night on the other hand, now that’s a different story, saw more flashed ■■■■ on a Saturday night than any other time :sunglasses:

I find Sundays are a bad day on motorways from lunchtime onwards.

Mon - Fri will see regular motorway drivers who adapt and accept certain situations because they have seen it all before.

The weekend though is different because these people ONLY see the motorway at weekends…result - loads of people with no idea driving. Far too close, far too fast for their capability and next to zero idea how to join or exit a motorway.

I used to work Tues to Sat and often laughed at what I saw Saturdays.
