Drink driving DR10

I have one from the dim and distant big mistake. As others have said try smaller firms more likely to look at you on merit also skip and tipper firms as there insurance is so loaded due to the nature of the work they often have more leeway in driver criteria.

So why are you unemployed if that bloke gave you a start?

Ok…Missed the reason, forgot what you wrote. I wish you luck, but I don’t have sympathy for drinking the night before, when you know you have to drive.

cheers kr appreciate that, vern read through i got done for drink drive in 2008 last year the haulier sponsored me this year his circumstances changed meaning he had to sell the mojority of his lorries hence me and a few others been outta work!

Ware Transport used to be lenient on that sort of thing, helps if you have your Level 4.

What’s level 4 ? Excuse my ignorance

OK, I meant Level D, used to be Level 4 though.

Must say though, I’ve found all the airport haulage firms have been lenient on different things, experience, points on licences etc, so it’s a handy thing to have.

I wouldn’t have known D either, never been in that sector.

I’m surprised everybody has been so restrained so far to be honest. I’ve seen some people ripped to shreds on here for a DR10.

Personally although I’ve never had a DR10, I tend to follow the line of thinking that if we were all judged by the worst thing we had ever done, not many of us would come out looking too angelic.

Day after is a bugger, just goes to show and a warning for those who like to partake.

Best of luck!

I had a dr10 in 1992 company I worked for let me go in the warehouse 12 month ban. After the 12 months had to visit the commissioner further 3 month ban on my hgv. Went back on the road after 15 months  . 2 months later after 4 or 5 rear end collisions by other vehicles on the fleet insurance company clamped down and would’nt entertain dr10 any longer. I was offered a job back in the warehouse but was’nt for me :unamused: . Spent the next 3 years working for anyone that would take me on all cowboys who thought they were doing you a favour :imp: . Fell into a job by pure luck where the TM was ex police and understanding stayed there for 13 years. It’s hard work but never give up they’res always someone that’ll give you a break

Piston broke:
Relax slim - Vern and Daisy are only playing with you

There are plenty more who WILL attack you but it ain’t those two…

Good luck with the job hunt. Hope you find something soon…

By “Daisy” I think you mean me  You’re right if you do, I won’t attack anyone. I can’t imagine how many times I’ve rolled off a boat still steaming from the night before.

These days though, I’m very very cautious. At least 24 hours between botttle and throttle.

All humans make mistakes.

I’d seen the other thread and bit my tongue, I’m not very sympathetic to anyone with a DR10 generally but I suppose there are times in the past when it could have happened to me the day after. Nowadays I’ll not drink at all if I’m driving next day, boring but safe.

I suppose you could find someone who thinks that having done it once, you are less likely to reoffend as you seen the error of your ways. Something will come up eventually.

Phil, I have to wonder about you at times, he doctors his licence then the company do a DVLA check and it comes back then he is known to be a liar then they wont give him a job.

just because your working ethic’s maybe like that doesnt mean his are.

As he says he knew he was a complete pillock for driving over the limit the next day but it was 4 years ago

you need to get a brain cell in your skull at times

Just ignore the idiot.

What you don’t realise is that Phil is an upstanding member of the community, he probably cant answer right now as he is finishing his sermon. He supports local charities, He doesn’t drink, sleep with prostitutes, or evade taxes, he told me that just last week while we were stood outside the baghouse sharing a packet of cheap Bensons.

Thanks for everybodys comments, input and advice muchly appreciayed

Class one booked for end of april assessment later, so hopefully that will open my options a bit more if I pass see where it goes from there
