go into the honda factory and one of the checkers see’s any rings or wrong type of clothing off site until its sorted :unamused:

Seems a bit extreme having your ring checked… :open_mouth:  :grimacing:

Our uniform is pure nylon…If I had hair…You can bet it would be sticking up every time I move!
Horrible looking thing.

If it requires a uniform, it’s a worthless endeavor.

Agreed! Tesco jeans and t shirt for me.

Not allowed in Tesco apparently :open_mouth:

If you mean for delivery drivers, MYTH!! I’ve been in tesco’s god knows how many times delivering in their own jeans and t-shirts with no 2nd glances and no comments.

This was the bit I remembered about Tesco in Fradley.

And as for William :unamused:   (one half of the Chuckle brothers) he doesn,t do himself, or the company image any favours does he?

Why? Is it because he doesn’t look like any other nameless suit with a tidy haircut who you usually find in those sort of positions? I would rather work for someone who doesn’t conform just because it is expected than for someone who does. People have mentioned his haircut, his tie being undone when he climbed out the car and other aspects of his appearance but then he is the boss so can do what the [zb] he likes, that’s the beauty of being the boss.

Go into transport companies in other countries and a suit will be a very rare sight, with ties being even less evident. Jeans with a shirt, polo shirt or T-shirt being the norm and it doesn’t seem to prevent them doing their job.

I totally agree regarding the non suit culture abroad, but, TOSSCO have BANNED jeans + T-shirts @ Fradley as of tomorrow for drivers on agency  :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

According the B.S. sheet I have received, they [Fradley] are being earmarked [?] for D.C. of the year, and, the puddle supper who dreampt this up obviously wants this award sooooooooo much :unamused:

Funny that, as we approach the busiest time of the year, and, they are having enough problems filling shifts as it is, some flexy jerkoff comes up with an idea that will decimate the supply pool

Funny how £50 Levi 501s are not smart enough for Tossco

Interesting. A rant about appearance eh. This coming from the same person that has an out of control forest growing on his dial and isn’t familiar with the words “shaver”, “razor” or “beard trimmer”.

The irony of this thread did occur to me

Luke, you have one of the dodgiest syrups in trucking, be careful throwing stones in the greehouse :open_mouth:

At least some of us still have hair to do something with.

I still have a decent thatch and not one grey hair :sunglasses: but I doubt I could carry a style like yours Luke, it’s kind of a cross between the Human League and Ricky Gervais from what I see on your profile pic

I’m afraid it’s no longer like that, I have it in a swept back Man Men style now. Can’t quite pull it off like Don Draper does but it’s very easy maintenance. I’m so sorry to disappoint.

I remember one of the reasons I started this job, it was to be an individual, start work when I wanted, drive as far as I wanted and wear what I like to do it. As long as I am clean, a corporate uniform doesn’t matter.

I did work for a German company who got us some proper driving kit, 4 or 5 short sleeved button shirts, nice trousers and a jacket. We also had a choice of overalls for the dirty jobs, bib and brace or smart technicians coveralls, all with the company logo and we got some Ties from MAN supplied.

VDB gave us jeans, boots or shoes, denim shirts, t shirts, waterproof clothing and summer jackets, but they were nice casual.

At school I wore a cap, a tie, a uniform with obligatory dark slacks and blazer , white shirt and house group PE kit. When I left school I became an individual again.
