Dreamcatchers

Who has them? Don’t be ashamed, you’re amongst friends.
Where does the idea come from? I’d guess Red Indian legend but tacky Greek tourist shops sell them.
They can’t work as one of our most miserable drivers has one, unless it’s wired up wrong.

The idea comes from ancient Northern Indians called the Cedecee tribe. They were nomadic people who would camp in the same places that their ancestors had. They believed that the dreamcatcher would protect them from evil spirits known as derv’ish sifonias who it was said would try to steal the energy of the Cedecee as they took time to sleep and rest on their way from settlement to settlement to sell their wares to eager members of the Carterus Gulibli community.

In this country, we’re scared the nomadic travellers will steal our energy. Well, the copper cable.
Why do lorry drivers have them though? Did it start with American trucks?

Maybe for lorry drivers it’s to protect them from evil thieves who try to steal their energy, aka diesel, as they move from layby to layby?

I hope not a dream catcher would take up the whole screen they must be like driving round looking out of a post box.

As far as is known the Cedecee didn’t make it to America, instead settling permanently in the east of England.

Thinking about it, competition for trade in America would have been quite fierce back then with only the occasional wagon train of carterus gulibli Americana to barter with, plus the perilous Atlantic crossing to the new world and the abundance of carteri in Anglia eager to do business with the Cedecee would have conspired to put paid to any trans-atlantic expeditions.

Also Roma tribes who went on to sell pegs and buy diesel

Hands up I had one years ago when I first started driving a 7.5T. I also had light up dice, a light up red Iveco sign in the window and a red fog lamp with a dimmer 12v bulb in to light up the cab at night. I stopped short of having Spanish bullfighting arrows though, that would look ridiculous.

Cein as someone’s owned up I used to have one years ago, it was a proper one though not one of those crappy yellow ones you used to get from truckstops ,I also had a blue rope light in the windscreen n the two blue forward facing LEDs on the dash ow and one of those crappy plastic truckers tables however after counciling n medication and an introduction to kelsa iv managed to kick the habbit

I’ve got one of those " dream ruiners " or as some call it " the wife "

My wife has one of these in our bedroom, I once caught her shaking it out of the window, when I asked what she was doing she responded that she had a bad dream the night before, so the dream catcher must be full, so she was emptying it out of the window!! Mental health issues or what!!

They don’t work.

AFAIK the Halfraudus tribe have adopted the cedecee tribes idea, though over the generations, there now seems to be some dispute who had it 1st
