Back in ‘those’ days many of us who worked in road haulage were also into the custom car scene and enjoyed weekends at the newly established York Dragway at Melbourne near Pocklington, East Yorkshire. We thought it would be good to get a bunch of trucks together and race them over the standing quarter mile and over a few meetings we got a good turnout.
