DPD mad?

More of a head scratcher than anything else…

I ordered two batteries. One order, for two identical batteries for a 24v vehicle. Ordered Saturday. Dispatched yesterday. 2 messages Monday that my parcel (each battery is separate, probably because of weight) would be here today.

Parcel delivered just now. One of them. The other one is still in the depot, and I have just received a message saying delivery tomorrow.

Just seems very strange. Two identical parcels leaving the same place arriving here a day apart. (assuming it gets here OK)

Is there any reason for that I wonder?

I ordered 4 small plastic wheel centre discs off Amazon after getting my alloy wheels refurbished black.

I got 2 delivered at 10pm Sun night.

The other 2 arrived this morning.

Amazon do the same thing, I could order four different items that should all be dispatched and delivered in one go, but their message may indicate it depends on the supplier for when it’s dispatched due to the size or if they short of stock.

The messages I had showed both parcels in the depot at the same time, so not (I assume) from two different suppliers. I’ll compare labels when I can to check they are from the same place.

Driver loads his van, picks up a box and it shocked its so heavy for its size, gets it in the van with a few grunts, goes back to his parcel stack for the day, spots one identical and says #@&? that, one was enough.

More seriously though, if it wasn’t guaranteed next day, it might not be obvious when there are multiple items to the same address, when I was at DX we had some customers that would ship quite a high volume, say BooHoo might be 20+ items in a 120 item route.

Would LQ rules stop him from loading more than ‘n’ shipments on a single run?

There is an online seller I bulk buy some dry ingredients from, initially you can opt dor evri or dpd but once a weight threshold is passed then its dpd only.

Good old evri. If they had your two batteries, they would at least deliver them on the same day. Though possibly to 2 different, incorrect addresses.

This is how we find many of our parcels when we arrive home, chucked over the front gate.

My Mrs sent for me a bottle of quite expensive after shave which she thought had not been delivered.

So they sent another, then one day a week or so later when putting the cardboard re.cycling bin out, I opened the bin to check it and there was the original parcel.

The guy thought it was a good idea to leave it in the bin.

I got a good result out of it anyhoo, 2 bottles of quality after shave for the price of one which the wife paid for.

I get as much as I can of my Amazon orders shipped to a locker. Less options for ■■■■■■■ by the driver that way.

As a bonus if I change my mind after ordering I can leave it in the locker for 3 days then they collect it and refund me automatically.

I’ve had 2 RYOBI parcels delivered by 2 different drivers on same day but both from same order

And today had 2 different orders from different companies delivered by same driver :man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging::man_shrugging:
