Life’s never dull in Suffolk, and so I’m posting a few pics I’ve taken on my travels in the last couple of weeks. Mainly Volvos and Scanias but with a few others thrown in for good measure.
Starting off with this really rather nice Volvo owned by Eurolink International:
While we’re looking at Volvos, this Dutch frige puller was also parked nearby:
Not sure if the Dutch understand the significance of the term ‘crown jewels’ in English slang, although maybe the fridge is loaded with…no I won’t go there!!!
The next one is a Volvo pictured at the BP garage at the docks:
And finally on the Volvo front this one parked up at the Routemaster:
Never having used the Routemaster I was surprised how shabby and run down it is, the yard next door is used by various hauliers including Routemaster Haulage (whose purple Scania you can see above) - original company name guys - and the top class fleet of John Hogan.
Next, some Stralis (what’s the plural of 'Stralis??):
Followed by a few shots of some Polish Scanias parked up at the Orwell Truckstop. I have seen quite a few of these on the roads, pulling IRF trailers, but the company seems to be called ‘Elkar’, they have trailers too.
Then suddenly the earth tilted by 45 degrees to the left!! Careful, getting a bit arty!!!
Note a Volvo as well below!
And this red one was also Polish registered and parked up with the others:
Next up, if you’ve bothered to read this far (!!) is a pic of a skeletal trailer at the docks - I only took this because I couldn’t believe how low the trailer rode - it’s tiny!!!
And then a bit of a line up at the BP garage again. Now take a look at this. It looks like another Scania 4 series parked up at the docks. Ok, it is…but look at the badging!!! It’s a 144 that claims to put out 720 bhp!!!
Now either the owner is one of those guys who has a BMW 316 with a 325 badge on the back, or this is an awesome, stump-pulling monster!! Anybody know??
9edit0 - this MAN and the Matthews motor were also waiting nearby:
Ok, just to finish off with, here are a couple of Scanias waiting at Ipswich. Hope you enjoyed your tour of Suffolk, keep checking back for more!!!
