I know from previous posts there is no such thing as a ‘standard’ ferry price, but last week I ran a 3.5 t van over to Dusseldorf with computer equipment. Shipped Dover Calais with P&O and was charged £430 return. That seemed expensive to me.
I am going over again in a couple of weeks, so would appreciate any info.

That is very expensive, try contacting somebody like Harbour Shipping in Dover and they should be able to do you a better price. Another way would be if you have a local haulier you know who ships over a lot ask if you could ship on their account as they may have a better rate.
as said previous.get onto norfolk line,i normally get my car over for 100 pd return.they have a website,dont know the address,i think you will save a bit of money using them
When I used to go over in Transits , we would go on a car ticket not freght.
