Double Manning question

The vosa rules say once you are double manned you must stay that way and not revert back to single manned- All our vehicles are doubled manned and have 6 weekly services at a garage 10miles from base. This is done overnight and a courtesy vehicle is provided back to our base and the same back next morning.
Having to stay double manned for this time means a meaningless journey for one driver, more costs in ot for the company and real inconvenience for drivers who live in the completely wrong direction. Has anybody had experience of these situations and what are the consequences if stopped without the second driver?

Just put your cards in, if you need to split. Split. If vosa had their way you would be double manned in the gents.

The double man team doesn’t have to be together for the first hour of the journey and the term multi manned is used now which means you can have 18 second men in a shift
