Double manning question

Can anyone tell me if the following shift which was partly double manned is legal? Started double manned shift near glasgow with the second driver starting the first driving stint between glasgow and lymm which took about 4h 20m.Dropped of the second driver at lymm then carried on the journey to portsmouth on my own which took approx 4h 30m.Is it legal to run double manned for part of the journey and do i need to prove i was running double manned if i get stopped by police/vosa -e.g. photocopy of other drivers tacho chart?

Here is a bit on DOUBLE MANNING but I dont think it answers your particular question - have a look anyway

ADD - I found this quote by our site Guru on the matter which I think applies -

Double manning rules did not apply as you would have had to be together all day bar the first hour.

Simple answer is that the activity you describe will not be classed as multi-manned (posh new phrase for double manning).

For the journey to be counted as multi-manned there must be two drivers carried on the vehicle to do the driving AT ALL TIMES. The ONLY exemption to this is during the first hour of the journey, where only one driver need be on the vehicle
