Double Decker vs Single Decker

Guess so

What’s the difference in this debate between a proper double decker and a tall single decker with little wheels on?

Nothing, theyre both useless for going under a 4m bridge and again the aerodynamics are ■■■■…

Double decker trailer drivers- do you feel superior to those who only have a puny single decker trailer in tow?

When I’m pulling a DD I can see the envy on the SD drivers who just wish they had something that tall. I look on these Single Decker drivers with the same contempt I do car drivers.

I would like to know your opinions on this as I’m making a delicious stew that needs a good stirring.

You “See the envy” ? Why the heck would anyone ‘envy’ you because you have a double decker ? I pulled a few when I drove for Tesco and they were a pain in the a$$ to tell you the truth, I used to envy the drivers with regular trailers who didn’t have to worry about the dam think rolling over. I have never been envious of anyone driving another truck when I was in the UK. Over here however I do feel jealous when I see one of the old guys in New Jersey driving a Scania which even though they are very old are still far better than any truck built in the USA LOL.

I only pull a flat.
Imagine how jealous I was, this morning…when I went through barrowby rd bridge,in grantham…only to find a stobarts stuck on the other side.

You mean he stopped before he hit it? Must have been agency.

Yes,he had stopped before making contact.

Yes,he had stopped before making contact.

How embarrassing for him, he’ll never get a green uniform at that rate!

And they give this cretin a licence?

Strange thing was…there was a “police slow” sign on approach, but no rozzers.
Maybe they got bored and left him to it.

Even more embarrassing, having to wear a uniform in the first place let alone a green circus one… :grimacing:

Why not combine a fridge trailer and a tanker, so that the fridge can deliver bottled milk one way, and collect raw milk on the way back. No more empty running fridges or tankers…

Like to see a pic of one of those - sounds like the ones that Guiness had years ago - liquid on the way out in the tanks "downstairs " and then packaging on the way home "upstairs "

It’s been done, by Arla except Arla drivers in their infinite wisdom won’t drive them with the fridge loaded so they are just being used as tankers. They reckon it’s dangerous, they clearly have never encountered 20 tons of meat swinging from the ceiling. The floor of the top deck is only a foot or two higher than a normal fridge.

Ridiculous looking thing and can understand why drivers dont like them, would be outright banned over here…

Yes I think we get the message at this stage, you don’t like tall trailers.
