Hi folks. Im on set runs long distance, my boss has supplied me with a spare digi card in theory for the last two hours of the run traffic permitting after doing my 10 hour drive or run out of work time 15 hours.
Can I be caught? Yes I know a pull, but very unlikely. Any other ways I can get caught?
No wind up. Please help with informed advice. If its dodgy ill jack it in and go back on agency. But well paid iam with social life, woud rather stick at it if risk free than go back on agency. Thanks.

Of course it’s dodgy, & if you do get caught you will have the book thrown at you & justifiably so! If VOSA happen to do a check on your crook of a boss, you will have absolutely no defence, & to be honest, posting a question like this, on an open forum, does make me wonder as to whether you are cut out for running illegally…

Pay as you go, hey ho!
What kinda check woud that be? How woud it show? Boss says he been doing it for years.
Who woud get done if caught me and boss or just me?
It is bypassing the driving hours regulations as well as falsifying tachograph records. I am sure there are other things that would be thrown at you too.
If this is a serious post… Don’t do it. Go back to the agency and get some legal work.
Remember you may be getting more for your FT job but it will cost you a lot more if you are caught… AND IT WILL HAPPEN
penalty if your caught, using a fraudulent instrument with intent to deceive, or obtain pecunary advantage by deception, all sounds like up to 5 years on conviction. Yes you will get caught so will your boss, same offences plus aid abett counsell or procure. I really think you’re a troll, are you real
No troll fellas. Im after informed advice. How will I get caught exactly? For what when records show no offence. Thanks for replys but im after genuine info. Double carding it, can it be fool proof? Im hoping this thread will help as I said if its dodgy I will jack it. Thanks for help.

What is your boss’s name? The frims name?
NAME AND SHAME!!!
Stobbies lol
LOL!
OK, the law of sod says that you will be merrily driving along and the old bill will pull you up, whilst you have Joe Bloggs card in. He will realise you havn’t been driving for just an hour or whatever because it took you 10 to get where you are, as he will check the vehicles Digi report. You will be in “da ■■■”. Nicked, down the station with your trousers down. Your manager will probably be up in front of the traffic commisioner and get his O’Licence taken away and loose his good repute on his CPC. Thats for starters, fines, possible revocation of our HGV, do I need to go on?
Only an idiot or a fool would even conceive this to be a possibility. If you are neither of these (doubtful) then I suggest you get another job, maybe a dog walker, or toilet cleaner, just something that doesn’t involve you driving in any way! Only because when my wife and kids go for a walk I don’t want some nb running them over because some nb for brains fell asleep at the wheel!!
This is exactly the offence that digital tacho’s are meant to stop. Of course it’s illegal, immoral and all the rest, but drivers have been doing this ever since the tacho was first introduced (in an effort to stop us fiddling the old log sheets), and the chances of being caught are fairly slim even today.
Assuming that you shred the extra discs then a casual inspection of the main disc would show no offence since it gives no idea of where you have been. It would take a proper check of successive discs to establish that there was a mileage gap between finish yesterday and start today. If you drive a different truck each day it gets even more difficult.
The main risks are that a. You get stopped in a random check or are in an accident (likely after a 19 hour day) and your tacho gets checked. b. someone like a disgruntled ex driver phones VOSA and dobs your employer in. c. Your employer gets a visit after a couple of GV9’s and they spot the discrepancies. d. Someone from VOSA reads this forum.
