Ok so I have been back at work for 3 week after my problems with my eyes and I receive a letter from them fine people down Swansea saying that I need to make an appointment to see an optician for a check up. Even though I’ve been having regular check ups at the hospital for the past 6 month after my ops and I pass the required standard to drive an HGV it’s still not good enough for the knobs at the DVLA! 
Now this is the good bit. My girlfriend says it states in the letter that I must make an appointment to see the optician within 4 days of the date on the letter, if not they will take immediate action. I received the letter through the post today which is the 31st Aug. the date on the letter■■? The 26th of Aug!! 
So my gf has rang up the hospital to make me an appointment but they say they can’t give me one as they have revived no correspondence from the DVLA yet!! what a ■■■■■■■ joke! It’s a good job I’m not one of the lads who do the continent and are away 3 week or more!
I don’t even know if I’m ok to be driving now as the 4 day deadline has past, when I started back at work I rang the DVLA and informed them of the situation and asked if I was ok to drive and the woman said yes as long as your consultant at the hospital said it fine and they would send me some questions out to fill in and send back in the meantime. This letter I have revived today is from sending them questions back which I did 3 week ago. So it’s taken them ■■■■■ at Swansea 3 week to reply and yet they give me 4 ■■■■■■■ days!! the DVLA are a joke and so are their poxy systems, nothing but a set of useless ■■■■■■

they are ■■■■, i have been trying to change a no plate on a car since may last year, they keep loosing the cheques i send them with the copy of the paperwork , a bunch of total tools

Look up your local DVLA office, go to it and it’s all sorted out in 1 visit. Longest it has taken me is 45 mins, due to the queue
in the office. If you can’t visit, then ask someone to go in for you. It’s that easy even my wife managed to do it. 
But be quick the local DVLA offices are being closed down.
They’re friggin useless !!!
Just sent my licence up for renewal, medical forms, etc…
Three weeks later and the licence and forms have all been returned as I’d attached a photograph to the application. Did I want to change my photo? …No !!! I just want my [zb] licence back !!!
Yep clowns of the first order.
They took my licence away permanently on medical grounds including the 7.5 T puddlejumper part, yet I still had a reminder for another medical for them ?
And opinions please…I still have a Spanish truck licence and an address in Spain, could I hypothetically use it to drive if I cancelled my Uk one entirely ?
