Dont you just love it?

Last Wednesday I was travelling over to Sheffield from Manchester on the Snake Pass A57. Those that have travelled along this route will know that it’s not the best of roads for a truck, some narrow parts, plenty of bends and alot of double white lines. I’m sticking to the speed limits as I am in no rush and fully freighted. Just before a blind right hand bend and with two white lines on the road two motor bikers came flying past me just avoiding an approaching car as if I was stood still amd I just thought “idiots”. 5 minutes later another biker was on my tail. I had a constant stream of traffic heading towards me and again on a stretch of road with double white lines but this idiot obviously didn’t know what double white lines meant and was constantly weaving out behing me to see if it was OK to overtake me but having to keep pulling back in behind. He was so close I could only see him when he again tried to pull out to over take. Approaching a tight left hand bend I slowed down as I had no idea what was coming my way, this idiot on the bike decides thats his cue to overtake right on the bend and again with double white lines. What he didnt see was the car approaching and I swear he must have missed me and the car by only a foot either side of him as he pulled in front of me causing both myself and the car to brake. I gave him the horn and he gave me the famous biker middle finger as he sped off.
Five miles down the road I see brake lights ahead and a car on the opposite side pulled over flagging traffic to slow down, I asked him what the problem was and he said a biker had come off on the right hand bend as he had tried to over take a car on the bend with a car approaching, miss judged it and come off onto his right side.
As I come around the bend I see the biker is up on his feet with his helmet off and a couple of people around him. I took my time past him gave him a toot on the horn and gave him back his middle finger with a great big smile on my face  as he looked up into the cab. JUSTICE I thought.
Now don’t get me wrong I am not anti biker I used to have one myself but I am anti biker that thinks he can drive like an idiot and put other peoples lives in danger. He didn’t seem to be injured but his bike was a right mess, maybe next time he will be a little more considerate ■■? but probably not

Chill out drive, getting het up about other road users just makes your day worse/longer/more stressful.

Just relax, if others want to kill themselves, so be it, don’t get wound up about it.

Be cool, at the end of the day you’re being paid to drive across a beautiful road. Enjoy it, and don’t get stressed out over others.

I am an avid biker myself and could not think of life without one…Your post has made me smile, as these idiots are a blight upon the rest, who mainly ride with a bit of common and more respect for themselves and others.
I would have done exactly the same as you :sunglasses: And have done on the two occasions that other bikers have nearly taken me out…One I nearly punched his lights out, it was only his injuries that stopped me from doing so

It is nice to see someone get their comeuppance though :sunglasses:

You want to travel south on the Route Napolean in South East France towards Cannes the bikers are brain dead they pass like GP riders with sparks coming off their knee sliders as they pass on blind 90* bends with their knee’s down , I kid you not they make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

I like it.

I too have a pair of boots that are feared wherever fighting men are laid on the ground.

Takes one to know one

When I worked for the NHS I was in a meeting one morning, in a room overlooking the mortuary access. I saw an ambulance arrive and a stretcher carried out, followed by someone carrying a biker’s helmet. Back at my office there was a message to say that one of my minibus drivers had been involved in an accident where a bike had overtaken him on a bend and gone through a hedge.

I shared a table at lunch with the mortician (always a good laugh) and mentioned the biker. He told me that what i thought I had seen wasn’t quite right - because the bikers head was still in his helmet. Apparently the hedge had a wire fence in it.

Could have been alot worse, had he misjudged the overtook on you and clipped your wing, YOU would have been in the wrong.

Shame he wasnt injured really. I hate knobheads on bikes that cant think of other road users.

i find most bikers are well switched on but like everything else in this world your always gonna get a knob giving everyone else a bad name :unamused:
a few yrs ago a lad who i worked with was on his way back to the yard he left to m/way stopped for a roundabout on the slip rd there was a lot of queing traffic and out of no the lad heard / felt a thud he got out to investigate only to find a biker had ploughed right into the back of him and killed himself instantly all due to the fact he was not watching what was going on around him
messed the lads head up for months dispite the fact there was nothing he could have done it was just a case of he was at the wrong time and wrong place and the biker didnt seem to show / have any respect for the machine he was riding

Ex-biker me too, kids (twins! :open_mouth: )came along.

Had to get rid due to lack of £££.

But my last one was just a big ‘cruiser’, lots of chrome etc, I became ‘in no rush’ anymore.

But as said before, there’s too many spoiling it for the rest of us (now them).

Still, LIKE the OP though!! :grimacing:

Had a cruiser once after a bad accident, wanted to get on a bike again but was a little worried that I’d get seriously hurt if I dived straight back on a speed machine, so bought a Yammy ■■■■■■ 750, had it 2 weeks before I gave it away, the piece of noisy slow ■■■■■■

I’m a real fan of big powerfull bikes, not pocket rockets, like the RF9, blackbird, old CBR1000F, ZZR’s etc, got the power, but not normally riden by complete twots, so insurance is still liveable, £128 a year for me on my last RF9 (I think, but might’ve been £118…)

I was quite chilled out both before and after the mad bikers had over taken me, I was even more chilled out after seeing the pratts bike on its side smashed up…not because I get a kick out of seeing peoples property damaged in any way but I knew for at least that day the idiot wasnt going to endanger any other road users…and if they want to kill themselves then go do it …just dont kill or maim anyone else in the process…thats what I get wound up about :imp: :imp:

I agree a lot of bikers can act like complete muppets whenever i see them behaving that way i just call them MODS…Mobile Organ Donors Soon…
