Don't sleep in a non sleeper cab in Belgium!

I’ve done this all over eu for 9 yrs, yeah I know its illegal but often circumstances have dictated it&is still a comfy bed & have curtains.

Belgian vosa eqv got me at leige, I was 2 hrs from destination, & 2.5hrs left dt but was 2am tunnel & traffic delays put me well behind, roasting hot day was shattered & day sleeping wasnt really gunna happen.

Anyway nice fella but still the fine structure there is €100 per missed 30 mins of rest! I needed a 9 so they consider not in a proper bunk as no rest! = €1800! Gulp!

Long story short I somehow didnt get the full whack, that would smart somewhat! But needless to say I shan’t be doing it again in a hurry!

Oh another one for you I have always pulled card (old school pre 56plate discs) out at night as bloomin tacho does it’s noise all night, pull card, leave open & it doesn’t, anyway they realky didn’t like that either despite no an inch moved, pah, so can’t do that anymore, need better earplugs!

Make sure the mode for the second driver/card is also set to rest and it doesn’t make the noise.

Another grammar policeman. What a fun job :unamused:

I leave a blank disc in the second driver tray and leave that on rest, this apparently will also cover you if you have an electrical outage on the truck somehow  Scania did explain it to me …once quickly…me no listen properly
Anyway it shuts up the brrrrrrrr, chick…brrrrrr noise but then so do earplugs

I always take my disc out at night (UK) as how else could you record you end and start destinations  also a disc can not be left in for more than 24 hours anyway.

I think you knew the rules and your time was up as you got collared guv

in the morning, when changing the chart, possibly? you won’t be very popular on the continent, if you don’t leave it in for the night.

When i was on Euro, if i started early, e.g 03.00, i would fill in a blank disc and put it in when i parked up, e.g 18.00… that way i would’nt have to get up at 03.00 to change the card over.
