Dont seem right?

Conor:
Oh the irony. It is “whose” letters, not “who’s” letters…

Well spotted Conor. It’s true though, they can’t really do anything if they do have your bank details.

Conor:
To all those bleating on about not giving your bank details…

You do that every time you write a cheque. What are they going to be able to do other than pay money into your account?

As for wanting a copy of your driving license and passport, they’re legally required to make sure you have the right to work in the UK.

bigvern1:
I wouldn’t send details to any company, who’s letters are riddled with simple spelling mistakes.

Oh the irony. It is “whose” letters, not “who’s” letters…

Didn’t Clarkson do a stunt on Top Gear once when someone told him “It’s possible to take money out of your account with only the info on a cheque” - which he said “No way”, and stuck his OWN bank account number and sort code on the TV screen challenging any viewer to “help themselves to his money”…

Someone set up a one-off standing order donating £500 to a charity - using the data provided.

Clarkson then appeared later and said “I was wrong, and I have been punished”…

I can’t find the clip on youtube though.

^^ I remember reading about Clarkson doing that, I think it was a newspaper column he wrote, and he being smart printed his bank details to show nobody could take out money except him!

It’s signed “Lyidia Dawson”

She can’t even spell her own name right, it’s Lydia, the whole letter looks dodgy as f–k to me.

“you have probably completed similar forms whilst registering with other agency’s.”

No.

WTF? Do you seriously have to jump through that many hoops just to sign on with an agency?

Utility bills and all that other proof of ID? Kin’ell, I’ve got a six figure mortgage and financed lorries with less drama than that in the past!

Has the world gone mad?

lydia.dawson@prime-rec.co.uk…this email address is hyphenated and the genuine company address is not, speaks for its self really.

I have emailed the legitimate company and will update my response.

This seems like a dodgy deal, I am getting really good at smelling a rat.

I don’t think they trade at 28 Eastcastle Street which is a very expensive area for office rents and 28 Eastcastle Street seems to have numerous companies registered to it so is likely to be a virtual office or an accountants.

Looking at where the company and website are registered (Two different addresses) it looks like he could be trading from home.

The business looks to have been trading for a while though

If an agency need it for proof of address, I take a photocopy of a recent bank statement and then use a black marker pen to scrub out all the numbers. Leaving just the address , and bank logo part.

Hi there. I’ve registered here just because on the same date when “Victa1” received that job offer I have received one very familiar too. I used Google to find this forum discussion because I was not sure how to act in this situation. I will quote the email text which I received down here. It’s really strange about this job offer. Also email has two attachments - one says about the sallary (7,75/hour, which is really high…) and the other is online application form where I have to tell all my details.
Please write your opinion if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

Would a quick call/email to some organisation such as chamber of commerce or trading standards shed any light as to the legitimacy of this supposed outfit? Just an idle thought.

Hi Keith

Yes this is bogus, not from our company.

Data-mining attempts like this are quite scary when you think that armed with all that blurb you’ve supposed to bring - they can inform the authorities you’ve moved, get licences, tickets, credit cards, and even a mortgage in YOUR name at the new address, then go out and kill someone in a car bought on tick in your name also - thus not only nicking your life, your money, and very idendity - but putting you in jail as well for that “hit and run killing of a child in that brand new 4x4 bought by your tick”… :open_mouth:

There’s been a spate of letters through the post in this neighbourhood attempting to get people to ‘switch bank accounts’, ‘go to this website for some amazon vouchers’, or even “claim your free shopping basket from ” All bogus. If you fill in the form, the address it has to go to is some PO box between Yarmouth and Norwich. On Google earth, you can’t zero in because there’s no geographic post code, but the area in question is mostly fens, farms, and f-all - so it’s all highly suspicious.

If you hand it over to the police - they’ll quiz you on why there are six fingerprints on it… :grimacing: :smiling_imp:

Not seen it mentioned, but if you opened the attachments it’s worthwhile running a virus scan just in case.

Unfortunately I replied on Sunday night. When I checked on Google I saw this topic and I realized that the email was a scam . I sent an email to Prime Agency Recruitment (they told me too that the email is a scam ). I closed my bank account and I informed the authorities.
When I reported this fraud , the authorities told me that they already have in their system this scam with this name Lydia Dawson.
Today somebody called me from an unknown number to ask me some details ( I closed the phone 10 seconds after he started to speak )
I know that I did a mistake , now I 'll try to minimize the consequence.

I knew it didn’t seem right , I was actually going to send my details but couldn’t fill in there form and send using my computer as something to do with my abode reader or something (yes it’s as old as the hills lol). Ah well I will keep plodding on .

Thanks for the info people.
