Afghanistan, Libya, central African republic , East timor ,Somalia, south sudan ,Nigeria ,Burma , north east india ,add these wars and conflicts[ as well as numerous others] to that list and you will find the whole world is in flames[no doubt we will get involved in those that our glorious leaders deem worthy [just like that war criminal blair before them].
mankind knows no limits when it comes to stupidity. homer simpson style.

How right you both are, already the International Civil Aviation Authority are being lined up to carry the can for this latest atrocity in Ukraine,
saves the world getting involved.

Perhaps they can be held accountable to a certain extent, like most transport companies, they wouldnt send vehicles across war zones, so why allow aircraft to fly over them. In my opinion what happened to those poor people was the fact that Russia was supplying weapons to rebels in Ukraine, including high travelling rocket launchers, and it was those very people who blew the plane out of the sky. The rebels are now ( according to news reports ) stopping officials from accessing the site, maybe looking for remnants of the rocket, and asking about the black boxes which apparently been sent to Moscow. The rebels, heavily armed, managed to scare away with threats 75 officials maybe incase they found some evidence of the atrocity, which also reported the barstewards robbing the posessions of the dead and taking valuables like rings and jewellery…the whole affair is almost barbaric and the world condemns this crime and wants those accountable to be held and tried.
if i was investigating, i would be looking at the sites where the rocket launchers were parked, and asking How many rockets can you account for and one by one, maybe you can find the operator who has one short of his quota…just a thought RIP to everyone on board.

They shifted the weapon and the picture shows one missile missing. It’s believed it’s back in Russia now.

cue world war 3

Seeing as West Ukraine is the only one to benefit from such an international incident as downing a passenger plane - I’m surprised that no one has even come up with the conspiracy theory that they are in fact behind it all.

The rebels gain nothing by doing this, neither do the russians. Get a disciplined unit crossing just into the rebel side from the west, and do this though? -

Now the west hates east Ukraine, and their cause. They already hated Russia, and now they’ll just hate them some more.
Best of all for Kiev - They now have the full support of the west to invade the east, and bring total mayhem to the region. Russia are already on the back foot, so cannot do much about it without escalating things to such an extent that the whole of nato gets involved “aiding West Ukraine to drag east Ukraine kicking and screaming over to Europe, that they never wanted to be a part of from the beginning”.

Strange how we in the west condemmed Egypt’s “coup”, despite it removing a muslim government that wasn’t doing anything for the rest of the population. See a Kiev leader overthrown though? - That’s ok 'cos he was seen as “anti-west”, so THAT kind of coup is instantly recognised as “fair and square sovereignty won”. The current Kiev regime are nothing but pro-European gangsters, and I don’t blame the east and south of the country from wanting out of the whole damned thing. Who are we to try and prevent that from happening?

I’m sick of the Euroregime and everything it stands for. Top dollar for those at the top, rubbish for everyone underneath. If it’s ever allowed to go the whole distance, we’ll ALL be nothing but indentured servants to a bunch of crooks we can’t even pronounce the names (or KNOW the names) of. :imp:

Note how quick the west was in “calling it” a terroist attack and all that ■■■■■■■■. It’s not even been proven yet if it was a missile strike or bomb on board already. Has anyone ANY IDEA how difficult it is to shoot a plane down from 33,000 feet - even with state of the art firepower that one needs to be not only highly trained (ie can only be Moscow or Kiev backed - not “rebel”) to use, but are we to believe this was done with ONE SHOT without a near miss for “ranging” the first shot? We’re talking about hitting a moving target over 6 miles away - and that’s from the vertical! Sophisticated Radar? Using that gear correctly? - Bodies showing signs of already being “blown up” in mid-air rather than frozen for the most part, because a missile would blow a wing or tailplane off, leaving the rest just to drop out of the sky substantially intact? Initial reports spoke of “Skeletons” rather than “fresh bodies” in the wreckage. Serious testimony from trusted on-the-ground world journalists that has quickly been stamped quiet… News Footage that shows debris, but no bodies at all? - Sure, we can say in the west “to protect the feelings of family, and dignity of the perished” and all, but the next breath we’re hearing “why have the bodies been taken away” - a question that only seems to get asked by the west of the east. Make your minds up FFS - What was the right thing to do in the summer heat? “Leave’em in the sun, or bear them away like we would over here?” FFS. :imp:

We can’t trust anyone in cahoots with Kiev to examine anything at the scene. If the rebels have the black box, then they’d be paranoid right now in releasing it to the wrong parties. Personally, I’d like to see some powerful body not affiliated with anyone present - do the examination and enquiry instead.
That won’t be anyone in NATO, Anyone from an English speaking country, or anyone with vested interests in the civil war that is now East vs West in Ukraine. …Perhaps China might like to step up. :bulb:

Even that SAM mobile with one missile conveniently missing seems likely to have been driven around “just so everyone can see it”. Such an apparently elite unit would take a bit more care - IF it were what it’s being accused of being, a covert elite squad supplied by Moscow to the local rebel forces. Yeh. Sure Baz. :smiling_imp:

The rest of us in the west are so blinded by the idea of “deny Putin anything” that we’re missing the obvious - only a bunch of crooks trying to expand Europe would have any vested interest in trashing the politics involving Russia, and the seperatist regions in the area. Russia and the Rebels gain NOTHING from all this, as indeed they have not. ■■■■ up by the rebels? - Sorry - not buying that from a unit that’s made a shot like Luke Skywalker here…

Was there ever even a possibility that it may have been a ■■■■-up by Kiev trying to shoot down what they thought was a supply plane heading east on a drop-delivery… What? A vapour trail at height doing that “drop” job? - Pull the other one! - That was an elite shot made by a highly trained unit for no purpose other than Europolitics. Strengthening their hand against Putin at the expense of it’s own murdered citizens. What do we on the ground get out of it? - More wealth for big business, thanks to the perpetually high energy prices that seemingly now cannot come down ever again. Who does that hurt? Who does it favour?

We, the hapless European public must now find themselves in the situation that the anti-■■■■ German public found themselves in during the late 1920’s and 30’s. Sleepwalking into WWIII this time instead of WWII - and of course the German public found themselves on the losing side back then too, punished for failing to stop Hitler. Will we be now “punished for not stopping the Euro Juggernaut” in a similar fashion? - Perhaps we should distance ourselves whilst we still cling to some chance of being able to… Alternatively, we could all vote Tory, watch Cameron quietly drop the 2017 promise, and find ourselves in a war vs Russia around 2020 that only started because Russia have had enough of the “Evil Empire” that Europe is fast becoming. How can we be on the “winning side” if we’re not even on the RIGHT side to start with? :frowning:

The much simpler conspiracy theory is that Ukraine knows that the Russian seperatists have nicked some serious kit that can bring down planes flying at 70,000 feet +.Which, amongst other kit, threatens it’s air attacks on the Russian population. So it tells the international civil aviation industry it’s ok to over fly the region in the hope that the use of such civilian shields will protect it’s air force against Russian anti aircraft weaponry. While the EU supports the idea knowing at worst it would create a propaganda opportunity. In which case who are the real war criminals.

As or us it seems that our government’s position is based on the glaring inconsistency of maintaining the ongoing ( correct ) policy of partition in Ireland but the opposite in the case of Ukraine. :unamused:

It’s entirely possible and has been done before unfortunately. They don’t have to aim much, they’re guided heat seeking missiles. The engines on aircraft produce a large amount of heat. A KAL 747 was shot down in 1983.

Where I am the footage is extremely graphic and I had the misfortune to catch the news (this country delights in graphic). There are bodies everywhere in the wreckage. They look just like you’d expect them to look after a major impact, quite horrendous. The UK doesn’t show such images for natural reasons.

If a wing or tail were to be blown off the aircraft may well disintegrate in the dive. Jet airliners cruise very near the speed of sound. If bits fall off and the aircraft starts an unrecoverable dive its not long before it’ll start to be ripped apart. I believe the wreckage is spread over at least 15 square miles. It all points to being shot down.
