Thanks once again one and all for taking the time to answer my questions. I guess I shall have to confirm that the dustcart does come under domestic rules. As I am driving for a local authority I assume that it does?
It is quite shocking really that one can operate a large HGV vehicle for so long without breaks, especially given the mental tiredness that occurs from the concentration required whilst driving and the roasting one gets from driving in the sun on a hot day.
I wonder if at some point the Domestic Regs will be brought into line with the non-domestic ones, as there is surely a big health and safety issue here? What made me think about this is that all the new dustcarts have digi tacho’s fitted and the older ones have the usual paper disc ones.
