I am starting a new job on Tuesday which requires me to use my digi card, (iv never used it in last 3 years) just to cover my bk side, should i take my log book with me or can i throw it on the fire ?

I’d say yes carry it with you.
You’ve got to be able to show last 28 days records of hours so keep it from first day you use digicard + 28 days. After that your card is your record of hours

As said you need to be able to show the last 28 days of records if you get stopped, so carry the log sheets with you.
