Doing theory test C + D same day possibly?

Hi,

I’ve gone and booked 2 theory tests, one for cat C on 1/11 and D on 2/11. The C is at 1245, but the latest appointment I could find for D on the same day was 1400, so I just booked it for the next day.

Now my theory test CD-ROM has turned up (missorted to Canada, so took two weeks to arrive) I’ve gone and done both C+D test and scoring 56/60 in three mock tests. I think by the beginning of next week I’ll be 100% on the questions. The other thing is, I know I have 70 mins to answer 60 questions, but on all three occasions, I’ve completed the multi-choice in less than 15 mins.

With this in mind, how long does the HPT part take to do? Am I right in thinking that I can do this immediately after completing the multi-choice part? If so, do you think it’s possible to have the first test in the can and make the second appointment.

In short how close could I arrange the theory tests in order to get them done back-to-back and down the pub?!

When i did my c theory i was in and out in about an hour.

You should be able to do both on the same day.

Just wondering, did you do it recently? (just in case this was based on a shorter test)

i did it 2 years ago
(had hazzard perception etc…)

It took less than a hour.

BUT… they were running late and i had to wait a hour to take my test in the first place :laughing:

But you should be fine.

You should be fine. Good luck. By the way did you know that if you arrived early at test centre they are more than happy to get your test out of the way providing they have a vacant slot. I’ve done this before for a car theory test. In Reading there is a single cubicle set aside for HGV/PCV theory tests

I did it in May 2007 it was the same length as the one you will be taking, as moving on said turn up early. I turned up early and got taken 15 minutes before my time.
