Hi All,
I’m doing a Class 2 driving course next week, As Bank Holiday Monday, starts Tuesday to Friday, Test Friday afternoon.
2:1 learning in Bridgend S.Wales,
I drove Class 1 as a shunter in port Talbot steel works for a year, when I was 20, and wish I’d done my class 1 then, as you could go straight to the licence needed, when there was 3 classes, and no cpc etc.
Instead I got diabetes and was not allowed in those days to drive any class above 7.5T, when they relaxed the diabetes rules to cover insulin injections, I was comfy where I was.
getting restless I went agency driving 7.5T a few months before the sept 2014 cpc deadline, enjoyed it, and have been taken on by a local based, national daily deliveries, for a window company, double manning to Leeds, Barrow In Furness, South Coast and Everywhere Around Norwich.
They have increased their fleet and now I want the extra money driving the class 2 they have, of course with my 25 years experience,
I am a perfect driver, with no embedded bad habits, never get gears etc. wrong, and know everything.
Yeah Right…!!!
I’m a 47 year old controlled truck crash somedays lol
But hopefully never to old to learn new tricks
worries are
Nerves On Test
Bad Habits, Bad Habits and Bad Habits
Splitters, used them in 1990, but at no speed, and only on off road steel works site.
Positioning in roads for example, turning right, tend to cut corners.
and so on and so on.
Any Tips Be Very Listened Too Please
Best tip I can give you is to listen very carefully to your trainer and ask him/her questions. That’s what you’re paying for so get your monies worth.
All the best with it, Pete
I will do Peter
Many Thanks
Is your LGV C course approved for dcpc hours?
If you do not have a DQC then you have the option of doing the 2 initial module tests or getting the 35 hours as you have a pre 1997 car licence
Thanks Rog
No, the training is not dcpc, I did my 35 hours in July 2014, but I intend to do a HIAB, and Forklift Moffet course, so they will negate any classroom cpc needed
Many Thanks

Pity the training is not dcpc as it could have been 21 towards your next 35
