Does this count towards cpc

If I did a hiab course would it count towards CPC hours? How many CPC hours do you get if you do initial ADR?

Thanks for your help!

It depends if he course provider and the course is JAUPT approved. The best thing to do is ask your local provider.

They often charge a little extra for this but it’s obviously worth it to get your CPC tokens.

Hi redstormrising,

An initial ADR course can count as either 7, 14, 21, or 28 DCPC hours depending on the method used by the provider to gain accreditation for the course from JAUPT.

A HIAB course can count as 7 DCPC hours, but there aren’t many providers who offer this.

If you are based in the north of England or South of Scotland Nithcree Training of Dumfries / Carlisle do a 2 day Hiab Course where You can get up to 14 hrs DCPC added on for £2 per hour + VAT.

If the DCPC was really about training to improve driver skills a HIAB course should automatically count as the whole or at-least most of the 35 hours training but it doesn’t :imp:

Hi S80RTE,

There aren’t that many providers that have registered their HIAB courses for DCPC, and the vast majority of those that did have gone for 7hrs. Nithcree’s website also says 7 hrs, but their entry for their HIAB course on the JAUPT site does indeed say 14hrs.

Up to 14 hrs is what they said on the phone when i enquired it’s up to you what you pay for £2 per hour + VAT is as good a deal as you will find anywhere. I will be going there later this year or early next year and the 14 hrs will add nicely to the 21 hrs I will get next Month for the Initial ADR.

Hi S80RTE,

It does seem a very good deal mate, I only noticed the difference between the Nithcree website and what they’d registered with JAUPT, so maybe you could mention it to them.

HIAB and ADR are two useful and ‘real’ qualifications, so the fact that you can pay so little extra and get the DCPC included has to be win-win. Nice one mate.!!

Best bit is I am not paying for it. The Site where I work is getting run down so a fund has been set up for additional training for people affected by this. So far I have applied for and had the funding granted for, Initial ADR 15-19 October, C+E 25-31 October, Hiab (No date arranged yet) and TM CPC (No date arranged yet) all in £4100 of Training all I have to pay for is travel and accomodation.

WOW!!

This gets better and better… Operator CPC as well.

You’ll have a full set quite soon, but I’m sorry to hear that the site where you work is getting run down. :frowning:

Every cloud and all that.

I’d like to wish you good luck with your courses.
