Tomorrow I have a delivery at Rotherfield Grey coming from Farringdon, but after will realistically need to drive straight through Henley to get onto the M25 and then up the M1 towards home. Looking on Google Earth it looks a bit narrow down Duke Street before turning right over the bridge that crosses the Thames. Is this route ok? Are there any weight restrictions (primarily on the bridge)?
That is fine in a full size artic. Thats how i came in to Henley and then over the bridge first left was my delivery for the regatta and then after that I turned left back onto the road and went the direction your going.
Ta. Didn’t fancy tromping back westward to get back on the A34.
The bridge is fine for lorries, ignore the sign warning about heavy vehicles causing damage, it’s ancient and refers to “steam road locomotives” or similar. Watch out for either a camera or speed camera van as you climb the hill though up towards the garage.
There were roadworks in Henley a while ago but if you can’t turn off Duke Street, follow signs for Oxford that take you past the Coffee shop and Whsmiths, turn right for the water front (one way system)past the old Brakspears brewery (the theatre is on the left) follow the road right and then left at the lights over the river bridge.
