Your thoughts??
Pretty much what you read on here daily and that’s it’s a ■■■■■■■ disgrace what some of us have to put up with to earn a living.
Just when you think you know enough so you don’t get caught out, something comes along to remind you just how unscrupulous people can be.
Yes, I saw it. And to be totally honest with you, although I was not aware of what went on, I am not at all surprised as it is just the way things are going by some unscrupulous comapnies out there. Did you see how they were charging the employees, I believe, £15.00 to process their wages. Seriously??

Do what?!?! Not per week, surely?
Even the TV guide lied to me about when this was due to put on air.
IT’s a (ZBing) disgrace, If some rsole agency wanted paying to process my wages every week they would definately end up loosing a dam sight more some other way, or they would get told to(zb)off!
Thatchers legacy is what has lead to this

Per week
Per payslip…
Total ■■■■■■■■ for someone like me who might be happy with a single shift per week on occasions. I’ll never be able to justify “paying for work” unless the hourly rate and job are soooo cushty, that you just can’t turn your nose up at it. That kind of work though, is like trying to get a job driving a ‘certain legendary kind of bus’…

Per week
Thats a lot of money…like £1200 odd a year
And is that just because you are agency?

dont you think there isn
t a cost to process wages?
Even honest Joe ltd employing staff on PAYE has payroll costs to cover, whether is little blond in accounting doing the wages, or the little old lady who comes in 1-2 days a week to sort the wages, there`s still a cost. Its factored into the running cost of the firm, the running cost are deciding factors, and ultimately play a tiny part (at wage negotiation time) in how much your paid, so in a way directly or indirectly, someone pays, inc you. Its just that agencies take it to a new level.

Totally agreed there is a cost associated with processing wages but that cost as you have rightly said should be built into their running costs.
And in any event, it does not cost twenty four pounds per head per week to process payroll…it’s just a way of screwing the employee over.

That’s why our company went to monthly pay instead of weekly, because of the administration costs.
Admin costs should be included in the price they charge their customers not taken from their employees wages, Now if your r-sole of a an agency decide to go undercutting opposition then that’s their choice but they should not rob from the employees wages to make up their profit margins , It’s wrong and should be illegal
You see a job advertised it shows rate of pay that is what you get paid less tax & nat ins, none of this and that admin fee nonsense ,

I suspect your missing the point & mixing things up, running cost & admin costs are factors that effect haulage rates, wages inc the rates paid per hour prior to the driver being offered the job, or in fact it being advertised.
The higher the running costs the less there is in the pot for other things including wages. Which is why many firms have gone onto monthly pay. So one way or another everyone pays inc you. Despite you not seeing an actual deduction noted in your wage packet or payslip.

Again I think your mixing things up … between a PAYE employee on the books who has no choice but to pay tax & national insurance, and a S/E driver using a 3rd party payroll company who legitimately charge admin fee, the fools who use the accounting /payroll services of the agency are in effect a 3rd party customer, not an employee of the agency nor the payroll Co and are billed accordingly, ( and I`m well know for my views on this) AFAIK anyone who is unwilling to deal with their own S/E accounts/payroll should be fleeced for every penny for using the agencies payroll service.

Totally agree.
Welcome to the joys of being ‘self employed’ and your own boss! Remember you can put the cost down as an business expense
