Basically had a fight with a curtain pole in high winds and hurt my hand. Went to A&E after work for an x-ray nothing broken looks like a sprain but it might be ligament damage 
Gave us a few pills too, just pain killers and anti inflammatory thing. But he said since i drive trucks i shouldn’t be driving.
It only hurts when im reversing a heavy trailer and doing air lines, driving is ok. Should i phone in and cancel my run tomorrow so they can get agency. The only thing is i hate being off work, i mean i like being off work for holidays etc but ive never took a sickie in my life.

If you’re involved in an accident, either to yourself or to a 3rd party and the insurance company find out your GP told you not to drive then they will not pay out. Best course is to tell your employers the situation and let them decide on the best course of action.
only you really know if you can drive safely, if there is any doubt in your mind the sensible thing is to ring in sick, even more so that the doc has said you should’nt be driving, god forbid anything terrible happened you could be in a lot of bother.

Totally agree,as Tallyman says,if anything goes wrong you’ll be knackered,best ring in and let the powers that be decided (plus if you did it at work then you should be on full pay and it shouldnt count as sickness on your record)
Follow the doc’s advice, it could be a few days before it really starts to hurt and show what’s wrong, hope it was the left hand mate

The H&S nuts on here will have a field day with this,they will have you off work until a miracle is performed at the second coming of Christ. My opinion is go to work, if you can’t manage take the motor back to the depot, but at least you will have tried. Good luck.kevmac47
