thanks by the way…

It’s not so bad, the thing with agencies is to play the game and don’t believe everything you’re told, sometimes agency people will lie and sometimes the client isn’t telling the agency bod the whole story, it can be frustrating if you find yourself with a crap agency but be prepared to move on until you find an agency bod who gives you the work you want, don’t feel you always have to work for just one agency, if one doesn’t keep you busy register with others.

Good luck and do let us know how you get on

Hi djp,

Good luck with that! I’m also from Colchester, not qualified yet though. Got the medical this Saturday :grimacing:

I got a phone call 3 hours before agency interview from a car transporter company 7.5 tonne holds 2 cars and they wanted to speak to me immediately.went for interview and start tomorrow. Does this sound good to you??

Well done

One of the best jobs I ever did was on a small car transporter, but that was through an agency.

Could you give me a brief run down of what’s got to be done or is it as easy as it says…cheers

When I was doing it I was mostly delivering directly to customers for leasing companies, it was very easy work.

I was using a curtain-side rigid with a car transporter trailer carrying one vehicle on the prime mover and another on the trailer so can’t help with the controls of a proper transporter I’m afraid, if you haven’t carried vehicles before be sure to get them to show you how to secure them, it should be easy enough on a two vehicle transporter though.

Thanks, yes its just a little two car vehicle chain the wheels up I guess and away you go

That sounds like a great job! Can I ask if you know what sort of hours/money you’ll be getting? Sounds like something I’d like as well.

Cheers

Its 40 hrs per week and £8.50ph. Not fantastic but a step to my goal which is hopefully driving all over country in lgv2 that I obtained in November, if and when that job comes along,at least I will be getting some sort of experience.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, not gonna get rich of it, but I reckon the experience gained will be more than worth it. Good luck to you mate.
