I was driving the other night and I came across a width limit but I realised I didnt know the width.
How about you…do you know your width?
yes, thank you…
2.55 metres is generally a good bet as the standard width of a truck. If the sign says that or less best not to go there.
It is 8.2ft isn’t it?
I often forget to set the height thingy in the cab (is there a penelty for not doing so), it is usually dark and I can’t see t anyway. However the other day I noted the hight of the trailer as I always do and after doing everythig that needs to be done to connect it I set the height, it is only when I got to my drop I realized it was 6 inches or so lower then the tractor unit!
I passed the sign for Lechlade tonight. It said max 13 m length. Is that long? Or short?

Well a standard trailer, IE curtain sider / fridge will be 13.6m and a standard artic has a max length of 16.5m
Fridge 2.6 m wide.
I use my mirrors like a cat uses its whiskers, if they go through then so does the rest.

The construction and use regs state 2.5m for standard trailers and 2.55m for refrigerated trailers. IIRC it was also part of the operator CPC course/exam when I did it

Does a cat`s whiskers shrink if it goes on a diet?
