I hope its not just me that does this but I have found myself talking to my truck. Today for example I picked up a heavy container and said:
“Well babes this is going to be a struggle so will take it gentle”.
Other things I have said to my truck include:
“Morning”
“Reckon we can squeeze in there no probs”
“oops my bad”
“Any gear will do, pick one of twelve”
“Have a nice weekend”
“Wish these buggers would indicate”
“Everything OK” (This saves me doing a walkround check)
Also I talk to my Sat Nav, phrases like:
“Dont be silly”
“Are you lost”
“We aint gonna be able to U turn here”
“Help!”
So am I mad or on the way and why is my truck female, is it because I’m inside her or thats just the way things are.
I have been known to tell the sat-nav to “shut the [zb] up”, or tell it “[zb] you I’m not going that way”, but no I don’t make a habit of talking to a lorry

Thats whats worrying me because I usually then say “who am I talking too” then “OMG I’m still doing it”…
For sanity I usually brush it off as my connection to the truck… i.e feeling the back wheels through me bum, knowing when somethings in me blindspot (usually), realising I’m about to clip that kerb…
Not my sat nav other than the odd “shut up ■■■■■” but I once downloaded my dash cam and discovered I don’t half swear a lot when I am on my own also my singing is diabolical
My old one used to freak out going down new sections of motorway asking if there was a speed camera on the gantry’s. That resulted in lots of swearing at it.
Talking to the sat nav has to be done lol.
Sometimes think its the only thing that listens some days, worth leaving on for the amusement of where it tries to send me, did it today came off the A55 j31 for Prestatyn kept trying to send me down the lanes to the retail park err not in a decker lol.
As my sat nav is a female voice (was going to switch it too kit from Knightrider but thought this too geeky) whenever I talk to her she takes not a blind bit of notice, as this is true in real life its quite comforting in a weird way.
This may be going a bit far but I also switch my sat nav off when watching some riske internet videos and going ‘incognito’ on my tablet.’

I have Yoda on my sat nav, have left it switched on by mistake and put it back in my bag only for it to pipe up at some unexpected moment! “at the roundabout left turn you will take” etc or the mooing cow noise to tell me I’m approaching a speed camera.

Funny you should say this as my truck deceided to drop down 2 gears when I was fully freighted on a wet road, this caused the unit wheels to spin and a potential jacknife sitiuation, I was only going slow but it made me realise that sometimes these autos can get us into trouble.
Obvioulsy it caused me no issues as an elite driver ( ) but I learnt from it…

A massive thanks, I thought I as going mad- yes when the trucks / vans start talking back it maybe cause for concern but my medication is surpressing the voices for now.
