Do you sleep about 8 hours every night.if not how many?

I work 4 12 hour shifts and get about 4-5 hours sleep but I then get 3 days off to catch up

About 6-7 hours a night in the lorry. But about 9-10 at home at the weekends.

when i was on permenant nights, i used to have a regular sleep pattern and slept 7 hours a day and didn’t need an alarm to wake me. now with long irregular hours, i’m lucky to get 5 hours a night, and regularly suffer bad insomnia and digestive problems, and generally feel like ■■■■■ most of the time

5/6 hours
not enough always knackered

Anything useually between 3-5 hours sleep, sometimes I wake up every other hour , or every couple of hours, can’t sleep on an empty stomache though   seriously gotta eat though, even if I breifly wake up in the middle of the night :open_mouth: dinner is served!!lol :stuck_out_tongue: :unamused:
If I get a day off, or a few days off, I still have the same sleep pattern :unamused: Only on the very odd occassion I have had 6 hours, I guess I don’t need much sleep  but if I am tired I seem to do a whole nights sleep in a very few hours- just go ‘deep out’ & up bright after four hours :open_mouth: Never sleep in the day time either :sunglasses:

I am lucky if I get 3 hours in bed. I have never ever slept much more than 4, but I have started nodding off during the day whilst working lately.

My dog gets ■■■■■■ off with me because if he sleeps on the bed I have him up in a morning before he is ready to wake up :stuck_out_tongue:

I usually get 4-5 hours per night but i am a very light sleeper it is the same at weekends. The only time i get more sleep is if ive been on a session in the pub but thats few and between

I’m lucky if I get 3 hours at home, but as this is a typical shift I do manage a little catch up

In bed by 07.00 up at 2 or 3, down the fat camp for an hour or so 3 times a week, I feel sorry for you blokes who night out in this heat and humidity above an engine that takes a couple of hours to cool down.

Six to seven hours does me, a good quality mattress and ear plugs do the rest.

I’m on permanent nightshift and I find I can get by on about 4-5 hours sleep plus a half hour helps during break time but I dont feel as good as I should. sleep the clock round at the weekend, and just been diagnosed with diabeties dont know which type yet but could be attributed to stress lack of sleep etc. so may be about to lose licencse.

type two pal! Don’t worry you won’t lose your licence unless type one ( injecting insulin ) :unamused: sedentary job see, sat on our rings doing nothing! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: EATING $h1t food :smiling_imp:

Improve your diet, and get more exercise, does wonders for energy levels and also to ensure that the sleep you get is of better quality.

Sleep can only take you so far, and its a common misconception that an extra hour or two will make all the difference. You need to sleep each day for a certain amount of time, NHS recommend 7-8 but every person is different, but it’s fitness level that has the biggest effect on how tired you feel.

I wouldn’t have believed it either, but I run 30 miles a week now and have never felt better.

It would be better to lose an hours sleep and use that extra hour to exercise.

probarly about 5 to 6h a night. anything from 10h to 15h shifts. don’t start till 10am most mornings so not too bad.

Mike 68,i lift up the bonnet of the cab,to allow the engine heat to get out, leaving the cab a bit cooler, the bunk gets a tad hot in this hot weather.
