Well iv only been in my new job a month but so far I love it…I had lost all enthusiasm for the job to be honest but I seem to have a spring in my step again.
Hope it continues
I have being in the building trade for around 23 years with around 4 years of class 1 work on and off but just recently jacked in my well paid building job as I was so unhappy with and now start back on class 1 work and boy am I looking forward to it
I like mine, it has it’s pluses & minuses but i think you’ll find that everywhere you go, it’s all i have to look forward to but unfortunately my days with them are numbered…
I have done the owner driver thing, then five trucks, then in a transport office, then back to driving for someone else and loved it all, trying part time retirement now and still love it when a little job comes along, I used to laugh at the old boys talking about itchy feet but ive certainly got a pair.
Yep, got an absolute gem of a job
My day starts at my front door Driving a 3.5t van round for more money than I was paid driving class 2 with time and half after 10 hours and double time weekends if I want them. Any nights away (usually 3) are spent in a premiere inn, and I get a company credit card for “entertainment”
The office staff text me a couple of times a day with addresses etc, apart from that I’m left alone.
Just passed my class 1 and honestly wish I could get a job using it but what I have at the moment suits me just fine
Can I change my mind had a bad, so until the morning I hate my job
Still enjoy my job but do sometimes miss driving! Once you’ve driven trucks, it seems to get into your blood…
Hate my job, so I got off me ■■■■ and found a new one starts second week in jan
Yip current job is the best tramping job I have had. Left to get on with it there never on the phone to ask where you are every ten mins like previous companies. Got a decent motor and the money is decent so can’t complain
Probably the best driving job I’ve had.
Away all week in a well-specced 13 plate 26 ton rigid/hiab, different place every day, great variety of loads, and I get to some fabulous sites. No pressure from the office, the boss is a good as you could ask for, and the money is good.
One of the best things about this job, strangely, are the people/sites that I deliver to. Far from having problems, I’m convinced that we only load and deliver from, and to, “nice” companies. It may be me getting back what I give out, but wherever I go, I’m greeted in the manner that makes it worthwhile.

Thank you Drift for this topic, these are all the reasons I want to escape the office and hit the road and these comments have just confirmed that what I’m looking for isn’t just “pie in the sky” I can’t wait till I too can become a King (OK, Queen) of the road!
I’m going to really love the new job if the boss buys some Fodens.
love my job, just get left alone to get on with it, good gear, no hassle, easy life, been here 8 yrs now hopefully stay till I retire
Couldn’t be happier
Great boss, great kit, great customers, never dull, good money. What’s not to like?
Compared to my last job, somedays I can’t believe I get paid to do the new one!
I’ve got the best job in the world, with the best boss in the world. Trouble is, the money’s cr*p!
Been retired for over two years.
On a slightly more serious note, isn’t it great to read that so many have a positive view of their job?

Yeah i quite like it just driving round listening to the radio all day. Only thing i dont like is the6-30am start 9am would be much better.
6;30 am is a lie in !! try 4;30 start for a few weeks , , I’m like the walking dead most days although I am getting used to the overtime !
I love my job, because I can be my own boss as employees. I can do whatever I want as long as I do my work properly.
I see other countries, meet other people and have a varied job.
For me driving is more than only a job and getting money for it…Money is important but not all…
And in every Job is sometimes a little bit stress or sometimes bad days…but for me outweigh the beautiful day and the benefits of these Jobs. Ich have no stress because I’m no stress. Dates are not my problem, thats only a problem of the Tourpanners in the Office.
