That’s not true. I know two and they work pretty hard for very little reward. They constantly agonise about whether they got it right, and spend a lot of their time listening to such absolute bullcrap you wonder why they bother.
They would be as annoyed as you are by someone who played the “Don’t you know…” card. In fact I doubt that the git concerned was a magistrate at all.
If the guy in question IS a magistrate he should be setting an example to the public by parking correctly in the first place. Perhaps that should have been pointed out to him at the time. (difficult I appreciate )
To mirror one or two points already mentioned:- Magistrate or JP is a voluntary lay position, anyone can apply and has to go through a rigid selection process and also do some initial groundwork by observing several court sessions. They have no access to police officers when in court and once they leave court are just another member of the public.
If the Ministry of Justice heard about the incident they would most likely come down on him like the proverbial ton of building material. I have seen the letter one magistrate got after getting a speeding ticket ( 46 in a 40)
The do not need any legal experience as a legal adviser is present at all sessions, it is their job to consider all evidence and come to a decision based solely on that evidence. An official guideline is used to impose any fines or sentences.
Mileage expenses are paid based on the shortest route from home to the court according to the AA route planner.

I had an altercation with a German car mit caravan in an Italian service station, he was in the lorry parking and started kicking off about my fridge running and disturbing him.
I of course told him to ■■■■ off, so he went marching over to the services and came back with a copper. There was a lot of shouting and arm waving and they went over to the German’s caravan. The wife and kids came out the caravan and they all got in the car and took off out of the services, they even left their little step behind.
I asked the old bill what went on and they told me they had nicked him for parking in a lorry parking area 
I asked if it was a proper nick or a coffee, they said it was a big coffee, so I asked for my share

hi swampey no I really wasn’t bothered that he had taken my reg number down. my works name and number is also printed down the side of my truck. if this guy was to do a report on me and find out who I am and what I was like he would have thanked his lucky stars im a changed person and only shouted n swore at him for him being in the wrong. not saying im a big man or anything but I have or rather used to have a temper. I had to go to meetings for it. im 29 and iv been in this employment now since april last year. I have never worked anywhere longer than this thanks to my temper. now im in a cab I argue and fight with myself lol.
the reason I posted on here was I guess was to 1 vent my frustration and 2 highlight a problem others may have had and a bit of what would you do. in my last post I mentioned I have told mags to do one, that is quite true. lucky iv never been sent to prison but have done my fair few stints at litter picking and calling out numbers at a oap home and working in a charity shop. (community service) im ok when im not around idiots, im actually a nice lad and will do anything for anybody but if I knew I hadn’t done something n the person involved was a man I used to lash out. bad I know.
still things have changed, I got myself a (professional job) so things are looking up

I’m firmly in the should have blocked him in camp. I had a "do you know who I am?"moment with Linford Christie many years ago when I was 21 and a van courier for Federal Express . We used to have a uniform that could be mistaken for an airline pilot or security guard ( he took me for the latter) . Anyhow I had a delivery for a sports management company in Hammersmith. I walked in a straight away a very irate Linford shouted at me “how much longer do I have to wait” I replied no idea mate , he went into a mad rant ending up with those words “do you know who I am ?” Despite him being all over the news at the time for being the Lunch box I replied no idea mate . He told replied Linford Christie , so I replied oh the footballer ? He went mental . I got my signature off the receptionist who was trying hard not to chuckle and departed leaving a ranting Linford to his own devices. I hate these egotistical maniacs.
id have found him guilty on the spt and fines him £85 with a £20 victim surcharge and sentenced him to 30 beats with my mirror rag, prick
