Do you ever think, "THATS IT IVE HAD ENUFF"

ITS BEEN ONE OF THEM DAYS TODAY.
it seems that i have had every muppet car driver in the country in front, down my n/s, my o/s, up my jacksie. :imp: :imp: . toodling in front of me a steady 53mph i go to overtake, haha then the car finds a bit of wind and keeps up with me…about 4 times today ive had to vitually take em out to get back in lane 1.
and this new craze risking life and limb trying to dodge the heavy at motorway off slips, well i lost count today how many times this happened.

the last one, i,m bringing unit home tea time, (to save my cars mileage and petrol), and three of the bar – stuarts in a row at the very last second decide they want to be off for A689 same as me, except i,m in correct lane, along with a couple a heavies. unbelievable man i tel you, the last one had two toddlers and a sheepdog in the back of a mini metro type flippin thing…

just said to myself, DO I REALLY NEED THE GRIEF/STRESS of this…

i have missed being out on the road, now i,m back, hahaha do i need it.

have really enjoyed the last three weks back tramping, even though i get home every tuesday night, but today has made me have a re-think i can tell ya, THE WORLDS GONE EFFIN MAD I TELL YA…

OK RANT OVER—CHILL-DEEP BREATHS--------AHH, PINT–

Simple answer NO!

Came back to Driving because I genuinly missed it, as for the ‘nutters’, water off a duck’s, don’t let it get to me :sunglasses:

Yes and I do it quite frequently.

But it’s managers that get to me, other road users can do all they like.

Frequently, but can never drag myself away from it. The best days in this job are the best, the worst are by far the worst :unamused::lol:. Just been sat on my bum looking for that elusive decent job for a while now. Been offered a jo as a warehouse manager at a local display company (with some Class 2, the MD knew me as I used to print graphics for them, before I got into driving - used to print and install exhibition graphics ). Realised I’d sit it out a bit longer and keep taking 2-3 days agency work a week. Must be something in it :unamused:.

Every Friggin’ Day

Bully

In my previous life I always felt ready to explode, but since i’ve been driving i’ve been (nearly) completely stress free…
It’s a state of mind, more that the driving… When i’m in the car I get as wired as the rest of the populas, but then in the truck, I reside myself to the fact they ARE going to cut you up and there’s NOTHING you can do to stop it… neither can you chase after them in exact revenge… So sit back and think about all the good things you do in a day compared to THEM… Inner peace…

And I ain’t extracting the urine, I genuinely practive this as I REALLY enjoy driving, and getting annoyed and stressed will only tarnish the pleasure I receive from it…

Exactly Chrisie, its only a problem if you let it become one, but for all those that it does wind up I guess that it may not only be the driving, some people are not always able to switch off from life’s stresses in general, family, financial, etc plus we all cope with stress differently, so this must effect outlook in other area’s too.

Yep Chrissie, that’s exactly how I feel.

The other thing that I feel helps is instead of letting all the bad drivers get to me, I tend to concentrate more on the positive stuff that goes on. And it is there if you’re receptive to it.

I tend to, er, make signals at people if they cut me up, but I do it below the level of the dash where they can’t see it. Nips the stress in the bud, so to speak :open_mouth::wink:.

I get that feeling everyday sometimes it comes to a point where I feel like jacking the stupid job in. Its not only the idiots on the road its the idiots in our office all I want to do is come in a my start time & everything is ready & I can just get away & do my days work. Then I wake up & think same rubbish different day just get on with because nobody listens.

i have noticed when a car is dong 50 odd mph there on the phone, then when i overtake there call ends and off they go, they must think under 60 mph and the police can not see them.

Spoke to a guy recently, who has been lorry driving for 46 years. Retired now. But still does 2-3 days a week! I guess it’s a job which like everything else, suits some people. And others not. I haven’t been doing it long enough to be considered maybe sick enough to give a comment! So far so good tho!
