Stobarts have recently been takin to court by some of there Irish drivers with reagrds to this, The procedure was you ring in before you start time and get a time from them, The court decided that this was classed as work and was interrupting the drivers daily rest. Simple solution when you finish for the day they tell you the next days strat time. If I can find the link ill repost it.

Thanks , but that’s notbthe issue ,there saying I should check my start time on a daily basis which I could do at end of shift ,but then there saying your start time has been changed until further notice to 4 a.m ,that to me contradicts itself ,you must ask every day ,but then shift won’t change until further notice 
If you do ask you get 10 a.m for the rest of the week ,4 a.m for the rest of the week ,they don’t say 10 a.m tomorrow .
If that t.o bod hadn’t rang say ing start 10 a.m tues ( come in 9 for meeting ) then I would of started at 4 a.m tues ,4 am today ,but he’s confused the issue by saying 10 a.m start ( you assume it’s for week as he doesn’t say its forbthe day ,and you don’t think your going to go from 10 am start to 4 a.m start .

I’m just going through along spell of if it could go wrong it does ,fall out of bed ,smack head on door frame ,hospital ,company’s thinks there’s something sinister going on ,welfare meeting ,Sent home ,see doctor to clear whether allowed to drive ,he’s notvsure ,change of start time ,assume it’s for week ,phone downstairs don’t here ,ring to find out why called ,hours late ,no work ,days holiday .
What’s the odds of falling out of bed ,and ending up in hospital
Maybe there is something going on ,it does seem to be one thing after another ,
Only thing that made me laugh of late was hr women asking if we’d recently decorated the bedroom ,do I walk in my sleep ,is my side against the wall or not

Our start times change vary from 3am to 7am we get told the day before.
Pretty much the same here, most of the time though we’re only told what time our first drop is and then we have to work out what time to leave.

That would seem the sensible way to do it , thats how it works at my place start times are on a 2 week rota an then if they want to change your start time they txt us. Works ok, no interrupting your sleep or owt like that.
Ive worked at stobarts there system was you had to ring in everyday for a start time but they wouldnt answer the phone so your sat there during your rest on the fackin phone. The result was you jus roll in for whenever and ■■■■ em

They’re always looking for drivers. That in itself tells you all you need to know really. It’s only the fact that the hours suit my family needs that keep me there to be honest. Oh and a shiny new Actros to drive too helps.[emoji12] [emoji12]
