I think there is a line between drivers who do days and trampers as a tramper is looking at atool to do thd job and a home.
Right I agree but surely the badge makes not a [zb] of odds. If Iveco made the best combination of tool and home then Iveco it is
Not all Iveco drivers are tools.
Renault Magnum, for me. I loved tramping in āmineā, and there was probably slightly more space in there than in the flat I actually lived in.
I had a Magnum of block haulage and I loved it, only trouble is a lack of side lockers. I had another one for a different firm and Swedish Blue on yer is driving my old motor
I think most of you are talking little porkies. if your a truck driver, generally you care what you are driving, the bigger and more powerful the better⦠true story.

Couldnāt be further from the truth in my case. I honestly couldnāt care less whoās name is on the grille as long as the bloke with his name on the side pays well and on time
Come off it, everyone will deep down have a preference over what truck they drive, If I had a choice for living space then it has to be an Iveco but for aesthetics then either a new shape daf or new shape merc, but as I dont have a choice My 08 MAN will do nicely thank you very ta (even if she is a ā ā ā ā ā to keep clean).
I think it depends on what work youāre doing. Iām starting a new job next week, 5 day week and home every night for the same money I got for being out weeks at a time so I donāt really care what Iām given to drive, so long as itās up to the task.
The job Iāve come off entailed about 25 days out of the month away ālivingā in the truck and in those circumstances yes I was bothered what I was given to work with.

A Foden with anything between 300-400 bhp will do me nicely.
I look at it this way; you spend a lot of time in these vehicles, your comfort is paramount, a nice wage helps too. But finding the right balance in life isnāt always easy, so you take what you get until the next best thing comes along. I
If I had a choice in the matter I would choose a different lorry for different jobs, so no particular favourite as such.
In the real world, I work to live, so if it is clean, comfortable, capable of doing the job it is doing and reliable thatās enough for me, anything else is a bonus.
My wagon hasnāt been washed for a month, and that was by a fitter.
Bits of trim fall off.
The dashboard warning lights resemble a Christmas tree.
Does my employer care?
Then nor do I.
Not bothered being an agency bod, but the last 2 days I have been driving a 63 plate G440 Scania, and I was the first to drive it, a and it may be the case that I have it for the foreseeable.
As has been said, as long as itās clean, legal, the heater works, the radio works, then Iām happy.
Although a few years ago I did a job for a client, and they gave me the keys to a motor that was 18 months old, and was a trampers motor. I handed the keys back after I got in it, as I thought the guy had died as the smell made me retch.
Why canāt a guy that lives in it all week, at least keep it clean?
