Saw a brand new unliveried silver Actross pulling a Stobart trailer yesterday and just wondered if any other companies pull them?
I’ve pulled them with a Fowler Welch unit doing traction for Tesco at Middlewich.
the brand new silver actros will either be a demo truck or one of the F1 team trucks
that said, Stobart do use subbies

Can’t remember ever seeing stobarts being pulled by anyone else. Didn’t know they subbed work out.

Yep, my guess would be one of the Mercedes F1 motors that Stobart run being put to other work now all the European races are done.

Looked like a nice bit of kit, if not odd pulling a green trailer.
we did. it was on here, a PJ O’Kane lorry pulling a stobart trailer on the A75.
we picked up there trade ins, loaded them with axles, and delivered them to SDC.
Lots of hauliers pull Stobarts trailers, and i recon that merc is a demonstrator
Keep watching from next week.
Ken.
The silver actros could be the loan truck from the spray shop people who fix their trucks out of Sherburn, they normally have silver actros.
As said, silver actros would be one of the f1 units. One of the “special ones” was in kronospan last week making a compete arse of hisself with a chipliner. I don’t know how they get trusted with valuable kit because this tool shouldn’t have been let loose with wood chips.
As for subbies, usually marshalls do a lot of Christmas work.

Most of the subbies are In Stobart colours…
Saw 2 or 3 of Hannon’s with Stobart trailers coming through Holyhead earlier this year.
Most big hauliers will use subbies. Its sometimes cheaper to put a subby on the job and keep your units free for better paying work. I see a Stobbie Subbie at least once a week.
EST also run a lot of franchised units, but most of them are leased from the same people that Eddie uses to supply their vehicles IIRC.
We do the same at Norbert. If we have a crap run like 8 pallets into London, we will sub that out so the unit that would have pulled it can do a full load + backload up north somewhere.
I saw it coming down the A610 in Nottingham heading towards city centre. Didn’t get chance to see the plate…read somewhere they F1 units plates end in FOM.

I doubt the big Ecclestone in the sky would let a team use FOM on the plates, thats the name of one of his companies, Formula One Management.
Eddie Stobart does also have the contract for the FOM movements though, so that may be where you have seen em from.

Don’t DHL’s Formula 1 Trucks all have F1 ■■■ Plates on?
Looks like these could be FOM though…

But the Petronas F1 Team ones don’t have private plates on from these pics

Marshalls Landscapes are trialling a silver Actros at the moment. They do traction work for Stobarts over the Christmas period as the building work dries up. Their TM, Mick Stevens is an ex-Stobart boss, so he sorts it through that.
And yes, I used to do traction work for Stobarts 2 years ago. Here’s a picture of the old girl showing Stobarts how the job is done.

Seen it today on the m74 and it’s definitely a Stobart Actros. It had the 3 white LED lights on the grille like all other Stobbie trucks do.

Bloody hell!!! An ex Brockies motor. It must be the one that got away, as they normally run them until they drop. Is that X651 NBT?
I was talking to Mick Stevens on Monday at Maltby. Like I said, keep watching.
The silver Cactros is currently running out of Halifax, as I was stood next to it late on Monday after speaking to Mick.
