They can’t take on Ltd Co drivers because then they’d be employees. The rate with a haulier as a Ltd Co driver is what you negotiate surely?

No, they don’t, and nor do they use agency staff. It’s mainly full time staff, or subbies, most of who have bought ex-maritime trucks through Maritime’s truck sales.

Well the op was enquiring about buying his own truck in another thread so maybe that’s the route he should follow, just make sure the tyres have legal tread on them though !!
Maritime only take on employed drivers on a full time bases, they have shifts and depots to suit most people.
They will take on a limited company driver if they are an owner driver and provide there own vehicle but rates aren’t the best and the Maritime fleet always comes first where work is concerned. The contractors are the to provide Maritime with an income not the contractor.
