no. but use in any how and do a printout just
explaining it was private mileage
12-14 t. ? Blimey , how much gear they got ?
Used to move 3 bed house contents plus garage contents + garden shed contents with a merc Luton van on a daily basis.
(its amazing what you find on top of wardrobes and under the side cabinets   ). . It
s all about how you load and pack the stuff in the vehicle -utilise every bit of space and pack it like a jigsaw puzzle.
.
as a suggestion,
Pre -box everything what you can and mark clearly which house room its intended for - and mark the ones that have fragile contents and the ones that need to remain upright. save yourself some hassle and time.
.
Get yourself a nice stack of blankets too, these will help protect plenty of pieces from damage/rips/tears/dents.
.
Packed carefully , would have thought a 7.5 t would be ample needs, unless they live in a mansion
Go too big a truck , and you will find yourself ■■■■■■■ items high up to the body floor ,
Good luck , you`ll sleep well that night
.
oh , and dont forget to leave some air holes in the bubble wrap so they dont suffocate

Its not to do with the amount of stuff, its more the weight of it. Being of the age they are, they have lots of old heavy oak furniture. Things like dressers, large chest of drawers, wardrobes etc. On a 7.5t you only really get about 3ton to mess with.
You’ll be amazed how much you can get in a simple 3.5t Luton van if you pack them well. Much easier for access as well, as well as cheaper for fuel.
Like Juddian said as well, get quotes from local removal & ‘man with a van’ outfits. You’ll probably be surprised how little more it’ll cost and you won’t have to do any of the lifting.

Fair enough , i see where your coming from.
Just out of interest, Have you had any quotes from house movers compared to hiring a vehicle at all ?

Bullsht. An average 7.5 tonner (a lot bigger than your luton) has a capacity of about 1100 cubic ft. An average small house removal if you include garden (which generally won’t stack, unless you want a lot of boken pots) & garage is around 1200 cubic. I spent 5 years doing removals, and often wondered who the fck thought anything less than a 14 tonner was suitable for anything bigger than a 3 bed semi!
