Do I do anything

Hi
Just need some advice,
Not through traffic or any hold ups all done to me misjudging time to a collection point .ran over on my 4.1/2 break by 2 mins . Do I sign anything on my print out , like sorry mr vosa I messed up or do nothing .
Thanks

I think just don’t make a habit of it. At the end of the day 2 minutes is only 2 minutes.

just do two print outs and write an explination on the back then give the other to your office. that way if you do get stopped by anyone they can see you were aware of it and was a genuine mistake not some cockand bull story you have invented on the spot.

no one is going to care too much for going over by 2 mins. Iwent over by nearly 30 a few months back because a combination of my own stupidity location and events. However they could see from my tacho that i had tried to stop as soon as i possibly could been moved on tried to stop again and moved on etc etc.

As above. 2 printouts, slapped wrist? doubt it

I wouldnt bother doing anything for 2 mins, wait for the infringement, sign it move on. Dont make a habit of it though.

I suppose printouts will show your compliance manager (if you have one) and the DVSA bods that you’re aware of your mistake and possibly save you a short lecture, but as has been said no-ones going to care too much about going over your driving time by 2 minutes as long as it’s not a frequent mistake, certainly the DVSA shouldn’t be too bothered by it.

Your company will issue you an infringement notice, sign it learn from it and forget it

I once cocked up a manual entry and ended up showing I’d been at work 465 hours…[emoji2357][emoji1787]
I did a print out once I realised and signed for the infringement (through agency it was actually) as to my stupidity. It was a tacho head I was unfamiliar with- but still all my own fault as I should have asked not guessed.

Learn and crack on. Nowt happened to me - it was just a silly mistake.

Haven’t done it again though. That would be foolish…

Plan your trip currently if all goes ■■■■ up just park on a roundabout, hardshoulder and use the engine was over heating cr ap works a charm

If in doubt, do a printout, you’re not paying for the printer paper so all it costs is a minute of your time.

Everyone should always make sure to cover their own ■■■■ at all times; you cannot rely on your employers. I was once hung out to dry by an employer who was quite happy to have the drivers carry all the responsibility - only once, never again.

To be honest, for someone going over their driving time by two minutes that has to be the worst advise I’ve seen or heard in a long time :frowning:

Don’t act like you ain’t seen it before, well not on the roundabout the pavement next to it plenty of lorry do so just make sure it’s isolated or enough space for a wheelchair

And not normally but in desperate times

Another Popular place for a break is under the bridges along the M25
