Sorry but if was only looking for 3-4 nights out a week I would go and drive a minicab round town.

I think he means he doesn’t mind being away for 3-4 nights, not thats all he’s prepared to do. But to be honest I wouldn’t blame the guy…I’m 24 and certainly wouldn’t do international work for the money companies pay nowadays. Although I’m interested in heavy haulage and oversized loads…but no-one round here does it.

To be fair though international work isn’t really about the money. It’s about the job. If people only want money then my advice would be to go and work for an agency in London. Or Sainbury’s Waltham Point!
Try any of the Irish boys but be prepared to be away 3-4 weeks…It used to be about the money but not so much these days, as switch says if you want money try an agency doing trolley dolly work.
Good Luck.
What you on about driving one year legally? Did you get your licence out the coco pops box or something?

theres plenty of guys that would jump at a chance for your current job,
Why bother moving in the current climate if you are already doing some euro work.
Just take the rough with the smooth and carry on.
As has been said doing euro means weeks away not nights unless youre very lucky and get a cushy groupage run to Holland or Belguim…but then that would get as boring as doing night trunking IMO
i feel like the odd one out ! i have just last week been asked to do european work and i turned it down flat the moneys no better than being in england so i cant see the point really
i wouldnt mind the chance of trying out a bit of euro work across the pond just for the experience but i need to get a new passport… and for that you need a second mortgage its so bleedin expensive now…
but yeah hopefully one day i will get the chance at least then i can say i did it,wether i like it or not will be a different thing…

Try Richard Long, they’re always looking for people with your experience… http://www.richard-long.co.uk/
if you want euro work but only want to do 3 or 4 nights out a week you won’t be going far, try somebody like S&K they do have trucks just doing barry to belgium back and fore all week long.

Already trained for Tescos then
3-4 nights out a week is only going to get you channel hopping if your lucky enough to get that!
