dismissal collision in breach 48 week limit WTR

If the ABS light was illuminated and you took it out on the road, you were breaking the law. The company were also breaking the law if they sent out a previously reported vehicle with an ABS light illuminated. Take the time to learn the laws of the road in this country and please respect them before you end up killing someone. You screwed up by driving into the back of another vehicle. Complaining on here wont get your old job back.

You should contact the DVSA and inform them about the previously reported ABS faults, how you and your company chose to ignore/overlook them. Then tell them that it was a contributing factor in the accident where you rear ended another vehicle.

Come back and tell us how you get on.

Hi. I know what i did my friend. And I took a good lesson. And I just trying to find out what should I do in future. Or what I should not.

What you should do in the future is get out of driving and get into politics.
You demonstrated all the characteristics of a politician in this instance
You were clearly in the wrong but It was everybody else’s fault but yours
You tried to introduce scurrilous elements into the argument to fog the issue.
Your terms of reference for a counter argument were incorrect despite having this pointed out in capital letters by others better informed.
You have written hundreds of words yet actually achieved nothing other than to condone the actions of your former employer.

ChrisWhgv:

The problem you are going to have immediately, is when a potential new employer asks the question “have you had an accident in the last three years”? That is likely to cause you real problems with many employers.

Your best bet would be to go with an agency for a while, as very few will bother chasing a reference from previous employment, or indeed give a ■■■■ as to why your last employment ended.

Concentrate on your driving in the future and remember you driving a vehicle that can seriously injure or easily kill other road users.

there was no warning light in that week , but brake did not work well and blocked wheels. Should I made emergency stop with double decker everyday when i start work. I didnt brake hard 3 years , and I taking that was my fault with calculating speed. Not much but it was.
Take the time to learn the laws of the road in this country… what that mean ? You assuming I am from egipt and I got no law ?
Thank You everybody. End of story. My fault, I hope last

Is this thread a joke? Please, someone, restore my faith in humanity and tell me it is.

None of us go round calculating stopping distances, we get the feel for our lorries and then use common sense with a large helping of caution and travel at speeds and visibility or travelling distances appropriate to the conditions at the time.

Off the top of me head i couldn’t tell you a single official stopping distance for a lorry (nor a car without looking it up), but like every other experienced driver i have a good idea of the physiical distance i will need to pull up in, given road conditions, vehicle weight, vehicle configuration, vehicle load movement etc etc.

If you need to calculate stopping distances and literally virtually measure the road in front of you every second then you’re in the wrong job.

If there’s something wrong with the vehicle brakes (or other equally important parts or system), then it gets a defect written out and it doesn’t go anywhere till it’s been fixed, no good wondering if that delay or sticky pedal might have needed looking at after you’ve driven over someone or something.

I remember something I saw years ago on TV. They got some experienced car drivers to watch a car moving past them and braking. They had to estimate where it would stop and most of them were fairly accurate. When they asked them to estimate how far away, in feet, a cone was, they were all way out. The cone was 75 feet away, the stopping distance for a car on a dry road at 30 mph.

The point was that we learn to judge these things in life but the feet/metres have no real meaning.

Agreed, and I’m thankful that I’m a complete novice when it comes to “too close!”

mr farage is joke. keep the faith

I lost the will to continue after I read rear end accident…

I think there’s a film in this…Just not a good one!

I want to know where egipt is.

Imagine being in an RDC waiting room with the op and you casualy say to him"how’s it going drive"

I think that explains why the vast majority of drivers in such places stick their faces into a book/newspaper or tap away on their phones and avoid even making eye contact with anyone else.

They cannot give you a bad reference by law

Do you have anything in stone to back this up with. Like a website link

I should imagine if you give someone a bad reference, they could sue you for defamation of character. Especially if it prevents them getting another job and the state ends up having to support them.

My reference (for myself) would say I was always on time, well educated, polite and neatly groomed… Oh no, that would exclude me from many driving roles… :unamused:

I take it the answer in No! then, More internet hot air

Not illegal to give bad reference, however you could take a previous employer to court if you think a reference has been unfair
or misleading about you.

providing what they put in the reference is factual and true then yes you can give a bad reference.

most larger companies nowadays only put dates on.
