my girls partners brother has disappeared, gone for apx 10 days , police envolved ( even checked my girls attic etc , they’ve now found his car abandoned in the fens , no sign of him .obviously there’s nothing really in the fens other than water / flat land , so there all thinking the worst .
I’ve never met him personally so i don’t obviously know what can of person he is but some things don’t add up to me
1 he left home on the sun but wasn’t reported missing until the Tues morn ( lives with wife )
2 there all thinking the worst but , I’d of thought if you were going to commit suicide you wouldn’t take a backpack / large amount of cash with you , but other than a mates wife who committed suicide I’ve no idea how a suicidal person would be thinking
3 leading on from 2 , there all saying he’s not got his car / there’s nothing there , but I’m thinking he could of called a taxi / thumbed a lift , it’s only being reported locally, not nationally so taxi driver / car driver may not even know he’s missing
4 phone , they assume he took it with him , I’ve no knowledge of the ins / outs of phones but isn’t its location traceable , I know it would probably be out of battery now
Hope he gets found , but some never do so would be torture for his brother / family not knowing what’s happened to him
170,000 persons reported missing in the UK last year, so unlikely to get any national coverage.
If it was a suicide, then why take a backpack and loads of cash?
Tracing mobile phone? It is possible to trace phones through the IMEI, so that is the phone itself, not the sim-card. Normally a warrant would be needed.
The missing guy has a right to privacy. Leaving home without telling anyone is not a crime.
It is very, very, upsetting for those left behind, but unless foul play is suspected, I doubt much will happen.
I have lots of sympathy with those who are worried about him, but I doubt the Police will do much.
I agreee taking backpack , apparently large amount of money doesn’t tie in with aiming to commit suicide, just hope they do find out what has happened to him as not nice for his family not knowing .
Police have been good apparently but I believe there about to end there search for him , obviously can’t go on forever
The money is from his dads estate , I know how much he got as know how much daughters partner got , but not sure exactly what he took with him , just told large amount of money
Went on the 19 th of last month ledwidge , about 3 weeks ago , they think he’s took his sim out his phone ( that bits above my head ) , not sure if police are still looking or not
