Hi going to Disley tissue ltd Hauge bar,
in the morning anyone give us some directions please
will be coming from Preston
cheers
I did it once on boxes and you had to go into New Mills and then back out, so carry on down the A6 until New Mills forks off left, take the left fork. Then turn left signed for Station which is Union Road - it’s traffic lights, then left at the mini roundabout and follow that down to the job.
IIRC - if I’m wrong or there’s a different way, please don’t hesitate to correct me, I just remember it being a GIT!

Looking on the map, it MIGHT be easier through Marple and down Strines Road - can’t think of any restrictions that way? I’d come from Trafford Park and come up the A6 - Disley is on the A6 - think I ignored the sat nav that was bringing me the other way

Hello mate,
I go there from Preston at least twice a week.
Take the M61 and M62 to J18 (M60).
Exit the M60 at J26/J27 for the A626 and follow for Marple (it’s not actually very clear on my road atlas)
Stick on the main drag through Marple (A626) past all the shops and the Cinema on the left. When you cross over the canal bridge, follow Strines Road towards New Mills. Do not take any short cuts (unless you want your picture in the local paper)
There is a 7.5t weight limit but you are allowed though it to access Disley Tissue (it’s there to stop the road being a cut through to the A6).
Disley Tissue is on the right just after you cross a narrow stone bridge about a mile and a half after the weight limit sign, if you get to Hague Bar you’ve gone too far but you can turn round in the bus terminus in New Mills.
Nice people, they open at six and if you’re loading reels they will let you in as soon as there is space. If you’re tipping waste you might have to wait a bit longer.
If you’re in a tipper they’ll load you straight away.
Safe trip,
W
If you can try get there after 6 because oneday I got there at 530 and waited out side gate, another lorry turned up and had to wait on the road. It’s not best road to sit on.
But same directions as above mate

If you did, it would either avoid the 7.5t limit if possible or warn you that there is no truck route.
It could put miles on your journey and even take you down crazy roads to avoid the 7.5t limit, which is unnecessary if you’re allowed through it to go to that firm.

I agree, I do have a SatNav on my phone which I use like an electronic A to Z but to be honest, I just drive to places and work in out when I get there.
I was one of those blokes who used to look up addresses on the maps on the display stand in garages too, I’ll never learn…
Fair play to the OP though, he asked in the right place (hope the day went well)

Cheers for the directions Alex, found it no problems just followed your route took me straight to the door !!!
Gotta say would have started to twitch a bit when i came to that weight limit, gets a little narrow down thereâ– â– ?
Great place to tip, top bloke on the forklift think he was called John (very helpful) even the security man was polite??
makes a change than some jumped up tW-t barking at you lol
was in and out in under an hour, had to wait longer to get my address for my backload
That was our favoured route years ago, but heading in the opposite direction, to avoid the traffic at Disley, High Lane and Hazel Grove and get to the M60 at Bredbury. Then they weight limited it so everybody joined a long queue for the lights at Hazel Grove! Can see why I suppose, it is a trifle narrow in places.
Pete.

Might have something to do with the swanky big houses along Strines Road and from Marple down to Stockport…
I bet it’s fun getting them low loaders into Bowlers yard, especially considering the length of some of their kit.
