Direct line AD on TV

Direct line AD on TV shows a scania writing off a parked car - thanks DL - that makes us look good … NOT :unamused:

My thoughts as well :unamused: .

Thought this since they first showed it. :imp:

Agree with the above posts, if you showed other professions in that sort of light there would be an outcry, i see the waggon even has a teddy bear mascot hanging on the front, as thick skined as i am after a lifetime in transport it p… me off ever time.

Look on the bright side at least it wasn’t a cyclist. :smiling_imp:

There’s a radio ad for RAC car insurance that talks about covering the type of driver who is most comfortable in ‘the slow lane’ you’d think the RAC would know there’s no such thing as the slow fast and middle lanes.

Bin lorries seem to have toy mascots on their lorries.
It is a terrible advert that feeds fuel to the fire for the Nimbies and Anti truck brigade.
Propaganda for Bo- Jos campaign to ban nasty lorries in London.
The cyclist versus Lgv debate will never go away.
It is ■■■■■■■■■■■.
Before you know it,all the new laws will be passed for heavy fines and a Trucknet member will come on here crying about a £2000 fine but did nothing to stop the law.

You gotta remember most of their trade is in the other lane …yeah the hard shoulder

I’d say adverts in general portray men in a bad light, usually as bumbling idiots incapable of doing anything right :unamused:

+1

Haven’t really seen the full ad, but I believe if enough people complain about the adverse image it gives to truck drivers, it may be possible to get it removed. Put a complaint to the advertising standards agency and see what happens.
