Iirc,it would have in the early 90s and they were a compulsory fitment on new vehicles but short lived.
Like the spray suppression ,when every gap had to have a doormat type thingy shoved into it.
No you are not imagining it, dim dip was fitted around the late 80’s for a while.
The dim/dip fitted on the DAFs we had at that time used to sometimes switch on the headlights when the lorries we parked up, sometimes causing flat batteries if it happened during a weekend. At least that was one stupid idea that was dropped.
Yes they were about early 90’s had them on a K reg F10, can’t understand why they got rid of them, far better than today’s daylight running lights which are far too bright IMO.
