Dilemma

Did my 1 st day on agency & got offered a full time job when I got back ( think they can’t get drivers , wages , 23 k based on 47 1/2 hr week ) , we started 7 am & we’re back and done at 11 ( 13.00 with training / filling out forms ) ,so if this is anything to go by it’s short hours .
But mrs original plan was to send me out to get me from under her feet for a couples of day , if I took this job short hours but 5 days a week, I could earn this in 3 days on general haulage , long hours , but only 2/3 days to earn same wage
So would you take this , stay agency £12.50 p.h on same job ,hope curry’s is ok & go there on agency ( hopefully eventually go on book ) or stay on agency & if brakes / xpo ever ring go there , I could take this job & jack it for right job as well
I’ve got a headache

I have no idea how you manage to dress yourself in a morning.

It was an induction day so it’ll be a short day. Won’t be once you get going.

23 k based on 47 1/2 hr week

Just for reference, xpo warehouse workers (pickers) are on 21k/year based on 40hr weeks including 30mins/day breaks so 37.5hrs/week “work”. If you’re after easy work, set hours, short shifts, fixed start/finish times…Guy I spoke to today works as a… he couldn’t really explain, something about standing by a machine which separates cardboard from plastic (?) gets £9.80 p/h doing 50hrs/week (optional) + overtime x1.5 after 40th hour.

first job is to ask your missus why she wants you out from under her feet…then divorce her or kick her out…then stay with the agency…it will be a lot easier.

It will be according to driver I was with , he said it’s normally 35 hours per week , he said good money for hours worked but he’d leave if it was 45/50 hrs
My mrs puts my socks on and ties my laces , dodgy knees

Yes £23k didn’t sound much

No she’s ok , put up with a lot over the years and still does , deserves better
Agency , I like the pay &12.50 p.h for driving a rigid but x the hours you work looks poor

No point getting back for steak dinner Friday. Won’t afford it on 23k

Just go back to stobarts it will be easier
