Are you referring to your digicard or the tachograph unit that you put it in to

Not much relevant information given so we’ll just have to guess what the problem is I guess 
Presumably you’re referring to your Driver Card ?
If so and it’s just giving a message error code 50 try cleaning it with a soft cloth this will often work, sometimes the memory chip on the card gets a tad dirty even no it may look clean enough.
If the Driver Card does need to be replaced then download and complete Form D77B (DL)
You can drive without the card for 15 days but should report the card faulty to the DVLA on 0300 790 6109 within 7 days.
When driving vehicles fitted with a digital tachograph and your card is faulty lost or stolen you should take a printout at the start of the shift and another printout at the end of the shift, you should enter your name and Driver Card number on both printouts and these should be retained and carried with you for 28 days after the current day (treated same as charts) then handed in to the transport undertaking within 42 days.
