Haha yeah i will just get a windows pc again! Makes life so much easier!
Arr, I love apple & although things have improved, you still can’t beat a PC for software.
I use my mac for browsing the Internet mainly as safari isn’t as open to malware or visuses as PC.
I’m a gamer though so need a PC too.
Halfers… Just run windows from your mac then get yourself norton virus and use it for the windows side of your operation…
End of the day you get the best of both worlds…

Is it possible to run windows back to back with mac software? I was aware that you could run windows on them but didnt think you could run both ?
Yes, you can. Google Bootcamp - that will tell you all you need to know. Essentially, once its setup when you turn on your mac just hold down the CMD key. You will then get the option to boot into MAC OS, or Windows. Once you’ve booted into Windows you have the full functionality of a standard windows based PC. I have this running and use Mac OS for personal, Windows for business. Its a nice way to keep work/personal seperate. You will need to buy or ‘aquire’ a copy of Windows though
Ive been running windows on my iMac for about 5 years now, never seemed to have an issues and it seems that apple are making it easier and easier to run using boot camp…
I let my kids use the iMac and find I have total control, can view everything they have done on the net, plus its very difficult for them to delete stuff unlike windows…but then windows I use for more gaming applications
Like I said saves on buying a second pc / laptop… iMacs are better quality to…and you have the best of both worlds
To be honest i knew i could run windows on it but didnt realise i could run both ! I have a copy of windows at home i could load on to it. I was just goin to go get a windows laptop aswell but this will make life easier.

Alchemy! You’ve just saved me buying 2 computers down the line, I have a MacBook Air & a PC, was going to get a mac desk top for the house as well as the monitors are gorgeous.

I suppose apple don’t shout about being able to run windows on mac as the want you to use iOS or mountain gorilla or whatever it’s called nowadays.
Ive downloaded that boot camp & also the registrator viewer link off tech moan. Great, so i can just buy a ■■■■ imac& run my pc games off it when I can justify the expense.
I’m also on fire at the moment & found this: dashcamviewer.com
which has software for MAC!!! check compatability.
My macbook air has a small flash drive so I think ill need to buy an external hard drive. Flash is ace by the way whoever invented that needs a medal.
Dash cam viewer link works with eprance 0801 anyway.
So i installed windows on to my mac last week and now in need of some advice on which software to get ? Also what tacho readers and card readers do people use here ? An all in one package would be easier to buy but open to suggestions.

I use Siemens Vdo online as it’s cool but pricey.

I would rather just pay one lump sum and have the software rather than having a subscription.
Is that software a subscription?
You can start with ReadEsm (readesm.sourceforge.net/) and see if it works for you… if not, there are several options that you would have to pay for.
PS. We use digiVu (which can pull down both card data and VU data) and a smartcard reader when needing to pull down just the data off the card.

It’s pay as you go so you only pay for however many storage blocks you need for your data on their servers.
I wouldn’t use anything else to be honest. Ring em up & ask em how much it is at least. I can’t remember as it’s just been my card for a long time. Great for owner drivers as you don’t pay much to use all their ■■■■ software. The more drivers the higher the storage cost in the vault obv .
I think their was another thread about it on here a while back, search him, I’m sure someone said he price & their are cheaper alternatives. The great thing about Siemens is they won’t lose your data so you don’t have to explain to the man while you’re picking up the soap that your charts burned down.

Ill have a look into it all to be honest for the first 6 months its only going to be me that needs storing and then i will be getting another soo what youve suggested is probably ideal and as you said it also saves me the hassle of having to back it up and getting a external harddrive.
