i am employed full time driving a mercedes sprinter van although i have to drive a 7.5 tonner aproximatly 30 days per year my question is do i have to have the card downloaded every 28 days or just when ive accumulated 28 days of driving which in my case would be around 11 mounths thanks
The card should be downloaded no later than 28 days (Calendar Days) from the first time it’s used after the last download.
So if for example it was downloaded today and you didn’t use it again until next Thursday you would need to have it downloaded no later than 28 days from next Thursday.

That must be a pain if it’s odd days mixed in with the van driving - all those other days in the week that have to be officiially recorded for the van work

Meanwhile, back in the real world. 
Why didn’t you just ask him if he knows he should record it instead of wording like that and give you a chance to keep your post count up? And it’s hardly a pain to have to write your name, the date and a couple of times on a handful of charts a couple of times a month is it?
